Well thats very very short for a plant that age, mine same age and most of them are pushing 2-3 feet (total of 360 watts of flo light). How do the nodes look, are they still growing in pairs, or alternating?

My other set I topped early, and they are pretty short, only 16-20 inches, but very bushy. But are the nodes still growing in pairs, or are the like left, then right, then left, etc.

Heres a crappy MS Paint image to explain.

When they start to alternate it can be a sign that its closer to showing its sex in veg (not always), and can be flowered.

Like southeast said, yeah. But you can also take a small clone, root it, and then inititate flowering on the clone to check sex of the mother, without flowering mother. Helps if you want to veg the main plant till tis bigger.
