I am going to the store today to buy some stuff for my new vegging area. I am gonna be buying and installing some Fluoros. Any advice on what I should have? I was thinking 3 or 4 of those 2 bulb set like hanging lights. 2 Blue 1 or 2 red spectrum depending on if I get 3 or 4 of them but having more blue then red if I get an odd number. I want about 200 watts does that sound about right?

I live by Walmart and a Menards. I was planning on going to Menards first.

Budget $100 or less

Thanks,

BL

what you want is T5 HO (HO= High Output, T5= lamp diameter) fixtures. they are normally sold as under-cabinet lights. the more lamps/fixtures, the merrier.

those are the same lights i am useing, i got four of the fixtures at walmart, then bought the bulbs, mine were a little more about 10 each but so far so good i am trying to put more in constantly tho, make sure that you have good air flow on the fixtures because depending on the bulbs you use they can tend to get hot

For my cfl grow I used four 42w warm light bulbs for $10-15 each. You can get plug-socket adapters and a socket 'y' for about $1 each. Plug these in to a power strip and hang upside down.

Then again you can get a 70w HPS for $20-30....

Ugly but will keep you on budget. I ordered 3' vanity light fixtures for $8. These accept 6 bulbs or 12 with Y splitters. I found 19w and 23w CFLs on sale for 50 cents for a 4 pack. Y splitters are $1.50-2.50 so for around $25 you can get around 250w of flourecent light. I'de suggest finding 12w veg bulbs and using Y splitters - 144w of light spread over a huge area.
