Flushing medium

Entering week 6 of flower, 1st grow ever. Does the medium look like it needs flushed? Since I put the scrognet up, I haven't been able to lift my resevoir so just doing a full water change every 2 weeks. Any advice appreciated.

Going to add more hydroton to my other tent so rockwool is covered to prevent this much algae growth. I sliced some of it off with a clean knife.

No mate, the salty looking hydroton is fine and won’t hurt anything.. and flushing can affect your plant quite dramatically so unless it’s (the plant) telling you there is something that needs addressing then just keep doing what your doing..

Week six on your first grow huh? Exciting times! Why don’t you throw some shots of your plant up for us to have a look?
Tell us a bit about how things have been going, how are you finding your method? Looks like your using flood and drain?

Ok thanks so much! Just gonna keep chuggin along, I think it's getting close just trying not to screw anything up too bad lol

I'm still dialing in my method tbh. Been using the gh weekly feed schedule about half strength. Ec only went up to about 1.4 kinda hanging around there now. My 40 gal res is too much to flush every week tho so I think im gonna gravitate to the Lucas formula and top off with nutrients. 2 floods worked well once they went in hydroton went to 3 or 4 by veg. Should have mainlined, or at least trimmed way more earlier and vegged longer. It's been a lot of fun for the 1st time. Appreciate the willingness from everyone to help a guy out!

Hey! That is a healthy looking plant! Well done. And that’s a nice looking grow space you have there.. lots of potential.
Yes it’ll take a few go’s to get everything dialed in properly and to get to know what your particulars are for the strain. But way to go! No signs of issues on those plants.. well done.
And yes mainlining and manipulating your plants can be good, but it’s easy to get to caught up in overdoing it.. there’s a lot to be learnt by just letting them do their thing sometimes as well.. same with nutrients, you can buy every additive under the sun and get sucked into the hype, but you will have better results concentrating on getting your light/humidity/temps in the right range and keeping them steady.

Great job so far bud! Enjoy!

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! It's a great feeling watching the process. I think im gonna stick with the flora series 3 part for a while unless I notice I have tiny or fluffy buds getting so close has me anxious lol

Just be patient, it’s easy to harvest early but difficult to do too late
