Flying SFO with MEDICINE??? PLEASE HELP NOR CAL

So I am about to take a surprise trip to NY and am flying out of San Francisco Airport very soon. They supposedly allow you to board aircraft with medicine no problem and the only real risk you take is on the other end. I know NYC isn't decriminilized and I dont think they actually allow MM yet. Has anybody flown with meds? Did you do it carryon? What kind of security are you likely encounter just leaving the the NY airport? Any knowledge would be most appreciated

its not gonna be a simple task thats for sure. if you really are going to try and do it you're going to have to smuggle it. its not gonna be as simple as to just walk onto a plane with it. im not professional...nor have i ever attempted to smuggle marijuana (or any illegal substance) on a plane.

my advice is to research airplane marijuana smuggling tactics that have been known to work. i wouldnt know where to find that info but im sure if you use google or the search function on different marijuana forums you will come up with something.

i personally wouldnt attempt this unless it was absolutely necessary and even then i'd try to find another way.

in my opinion you'd prolly be better off attempting to smuggle it through the mail than through the airports. why? do you ask? because you can send a package out for delivery WITHOUT (note: i repeat WITHOUT) having to put a return address on the package....AND if you know where in NY you or the person trying to obtain the marijuana is going to be located you can attempt to mail to an address unrelated to either of you and simply intercept the package before the unrelated party gets the mail.

this is kind of difficult as you have to choose a target address to send the package thats:
A) nearby (no one wants to drive an hr away every day for a week and wait for the mail to come...
B) completely unrelated to you (meaning you dont know them on a name by name basis and they dont know you is ideal)
C) the target address to receive the marijuana shouldn't have nosy neighbors or ones that are outside a lot...
D) the target address should have a household gone from the house for an extended period of time so you can get it w/o being seen


this means you must canvas for a place to send it to (if this is to be sent to someone have them do these steps)

if you intend on going to NY and picking it up for yourself all of this is still possible but you'd need help on the otherside (NY).

the reason i say do this if you can (ie going to meet family etc...they can help) is because if the package is intercepted big deal you lose your buds but you wont lose your freedom. without putting a return address and sending it to someone completely unrelated to you its going to be pretty hard to link you to it...where as if they get you on a plane the old, "i never seen that in my life its not mine!" story wont get you anything but a felony.

I WOULD NOT try this. First off you are flying across the entire US pretty much. Every time you move over a new state line you will be trafficking. Now say you get caught - You are Screwed. I suggest going to NY : taking your medical card. Contact a Norml office in New York - Find out how they would suggest you get Meds in New York.

Do NOT try to smuggle anything onto an Airplane ... it is not good for anyone. Can you imagine how the media would blow what happens out of proportion ... we will all see you on fox news with this headline "California Medical Patient attempts to smuggle cannabis to other states via Airplane" - it will be the new corner stone of why medical marijuana is bad for America

Definately don't smuggle it on there. You being "legal" is still a gray area where they don't mess with you as long as you don't do anything stupid like try to smuggle it across country. Don't mail it either that might be even dumber the postal system is run by the government so that's another automatic felony.if you have friends there ask them or ask your friends if they know anyone there. I know someone who made brownies and took those on a plane and it worked but you never know. Its messed up that you even have to worry about that I'd hate to see anybody in trouble for mj

I wouldn't chanch it. Federal time. I have never been to New York, but I do think that you should be able to find some there.

no offense but i disagree. i think he's safer sending it (without a return address) to an unrelated address in NY (and just have the other party get it before the people who own the mail box get the mail).

this way even if the package is intercepted (assuming his prints arent in the system...ie. like going to prison before would have his prints on file or if he uses gloves) its going to be next to impossible to pin it on him...

his chances of getting the marijuana found are about the same i assume but his chances of losing his freedom are reduced by mailing it.

this way worst case scenario he just loses some bud...no big deal compared to flying with it and getting caught.

I only ask cause I grow my own and have plenty of great nugz but would have to pay too much for shitty budz in NY. It is kind of a tease for them to offer that shit but whatever. I wont be bringing anything but I will be pretty drunk for the red eye. I will have my friend get it no prob. Thanks for the overwhelming support of making good decisions...

sorry I gotta disagree with most everyone in this thread...first off it is decrim in NY actually....second..its really simple to smuggle weed on an airplane especially if its only a few grams (under a half) - you just simply wear baggie jeans and carry it in your pocket so that it doesnt make a bulge, when you have to empty your pockets while boarding plane you leave the bag of weed in your pocket...when you get off the plane in new york you dont even have to be searched or anything you just go get your luggage and walk right out..its only when you board a plane you are searched so really if your so sure the SF airport wont give you a problem you could do more than a half even..hell you could load up your entire carry on luggage if your really 100% they arent going to give you a problem about that in san fran - I HIGHLY DOUBT they would just allow you to get on the plane with an entire suitcase full of weed thou.

The smuggling aspect isn't that hard if your only taking a very small amount. I've flown with a couple grams folded up inside a cigarette wrapper and hid inside the lining of my wallet on several occassion and have't had a problem, but you need to keep in mind that you aren't dealing with state regulations when your on a plane, your dealing with the Fed's. If you do get nailed it's a Federal offense, and since the Fed's don't recognize the states MMJ laws your perscription isn't going to be much of a defense.

Just a side note- My brother in law just took a cross country bus trip to see his family last week (he hates flying), and halfway through Kansas the Highway patrol showed up and searched the bus with dogs while they were at a rest stop. My brother in law had his stuff in an airtight tube we got from a local dispensary, and the dogs didn't alert on it even though they went right by the bag he had it hidden in. After he filled the tube at home he washed the outside completely with soap and water (to get rid of any smell of pot on the outside), so apparently the air tight part of the tube really does work.

Not a great idea, although its too bad where your comming from you would not be paying 800 bucks for an O.Z. like you have to in N.Y. Good luck, just dont trust the airline! there no better than the Feds... Respect

i am 100% sure you have never flown before. they can search you and your luggage whenever they want to. or if you have flown it was before a little thing called 9/11.
so you disagree with our advice and your advice is "fuck it just roll up there pockets and suitcase full of weed youll be fine"

Flew into NY last weekend. Amazing thing I saw there at the baggage pickup area. K-9 handling units walking around. Sure the dogs could be just sniffing for explosive material, but a lot of K-9 units are trained in multiple detection (explosives, drugs...). If memory serves me correct, airports are covered under Federal and just because it might be decrim on the state level........

Flying with weed is very possible, I don't know why you guys are so paranoid.

Go look on youtube, there is a video of a MMJ patient in Vancouver canada..... who flys across the world with ONLY A POUND OF KUSH.
He brings no luggage, no suitcase.... he only carrys-on a pound of kush..... he gets fucked up looks from everyone in the airport cuz he wreeks, but he's allowed on board with it and he transports it.

Go on youtube and search "theweedguy"

Go ahead and take a chance if you want too.
But take it from someone who got caught trying to bring some back from Hawaii.

lol your lucky this time Mr. 100% sure, I had a big pile of airline tickets I was going to snap a photo of for you but apparently my gf threw them away lol, I have flown at the least 3 times a year since 9/11 ..

Not worth the risk since airports are under federal and state jurisdiction. Sure it could be decrim'ed by the state....

BTW, they can search anyone at anytime. That's what those signs when you come up to the airport are for. The one at BWI reads: By entering airport property, all persons, vehicles, and containers on airport property, including aircraft and automobiles, are subject to search by law enforcement personnel (based on applicable Federal, State, and Local laws). All airport users are subject to applicable TSA and/or FAA security regulations.

I live in SF and one day the news said you were allowed to take up to 8 OZs on the plane and they can't do anything. But getting off is a risk if that state does not recognize MMJ cards. But that was the news.

I know people that take weed with them all the time when travelling for work (couple times each month). They don't take much because they usually aren't gone for more than a few days to a week at a time but they just divide it up into small Rx bottles and put them in the front pockets of their loose fitting pants. You can't tell they have anything in there and they wear extra cologne so they smell like shit anyway. They've been doing it fot the past five years or so without problem. I'm not saying I'd do it, just that they do it all the time. I'm a small guy and the thought of Fed time is enough of a deterrent for me, lol.
