foliar feeding ?!?

I thought plants took up nutrients exclusively through roots and not at all through leaves, unless you want to call co2 a nutrient. Am I completely wrong or is cannabis a singular or rare exception to my belief? If foliar feeding works, it is not counter to the idea of feeding the soil instead of the plant? Is it more important to indoor cultivation than growing in dirt outdoors?

Do it, its really fucking good for the plants. Spray when lights are just about to come on, and in the morning when due is still on your lawn. Its like all those fucking leaves are roots. They will take in what ever you give them just make sure you wash your plants every so often so they get all residue off of them

Foliar feeding is nothing new and is even applied to industrial scale crops.

If done for the right reasons in the right environment it can be beneficial for some plants.

That said, I am from the school of thought that you only need to foliar feed if you have issues to address..



Or rather, if you have happy healthy and productive plants, what more does foliar feeding offer? I dunno.. I've done it.. a lot.. I've not done it.. a lot.. these days I am minimalist.. i like to make harvests without ever spraying a thing on my leaves... ever. That's ust me.. that's always my goal anyway.. we all have our quirks.

Foilar feeding is great, like the above poster said, ecspecially when you
have a nute deficiancy that needs to be corrected quickly. When foilar
feeding indoors always do it before lights out. If outdoor I personally
think its best to mist them with the solutions at night. The reason for not
feeding in direct or hot sunlight is because the nutes can sometimes burn
the leaves as the nutes are heated and the water magnifyes the light exposure
creating a magnifyng effect as you did as a youngster with a magnifyer and
a leaf, remember how it burnt a hole in the leaf?

I personally always mix my foilar feeding nutes a wee bit weaker than I do
my direct soil feedings. Dont know if it matter but it seems like the best idea
because the leaves absorb foilar feeding very quickly. One thing I would not do
is foilar feed while flowering ecspecially late into flower when the buds are quiet
dense. Foilar feeding is ecspcially good during the veg period. I always mix a tiny
bit of epsom salts with my foilar feeds, always brings out a dark beautiful color.

Oh, just a little expirement to try. If you have some smaller vegetating plants take
a picture or a good memory photo of the plant. Spray with nutes before lights out, go
back and check it when lights are back on and you will be suprised at the explosive growth
it produces. Don't do it when you water, just someday between feedings. And it seems to
be more beneficial with a finer misting than a spray or flow. Just a tip

If you do plan to foliar feed.. have a hell of a reason to do it - not just because you think it's a good idea (and then do it without research) There are only 3 reasons you should ever foliar feed.

#1: damaged rootsystem (due to over-watering or other, resulting in root rot)
#2: deficiencies (You can foliar feed to give them a lil' shot of things to keep it semi-sane while you work out the full magnitude of the problem)
#3: to give your plants a little boost (caution is required here so you don't spike them with anything that may cause other issues)
