For all the n00bs wanting to grow 12/12 READ THIS!!!

My plant is 3 days from 3 weeks old. It's been under two 26W CFL bulbs 24/0.
I'm thinking of going to 18/6 at 3 weeks.
I have another seed I'm just planting and would like to see the growth of a seed started on 18/6 compared to a seed started on 24/0.

yeah 12-12 is pointless, all these plants grown 12-12 from seed were all shit:finger:
That's awesome man, what kinda lights are you using??? And I'm just a n00b looking for info man, so I can grow better bud for myself...and I've seen someone else here growin sum good lookin bud from 12/12 also. I myself will eventually try alot of different types of growing styles and ultimately choose the one I like the most. Thanx for the pics and input.

12/12 from seed is an excellent choice for people who grow in confined spaces due to the fact that they dont branch out as much as a vegged plant. I have seen tons of ignorance on here regarding the subject. I used to bash it too until I tried it and realized I could run 4 per square foot and get 2 oz. plus from each.

not to mention who wants to veg a plant for 2 months spend all that time and money for it to be a male? alot of people the majority veg for a month and then flower because it just makes more since and is more productive considering you have complete control indoors.

If you do not know the sex AND it has not shown preflowers yet how do you get rid of it before preflowers? The basis of the thread is to wait for the plant to show its preflowers, before putting it under 12/12. Two months is only significant because most varieties show preflowers within two months of starting from seed.

Oh I'm not bashing, just learnin. I actually thought about 12/12 from bean, but decided against it. Although I just put my first baby into 12/12 a few minutes ago. I've been readin the grow bible and marijuana growing basics and thought I'd ask about how others are doing it 24/0-18/6-16/8-12/12 or what, I know some that have said they've done 11/13...so there ya go...I have a little over 4,000 sqr ft of house and 10 acres to play with in my semi retirement...lol

They are grown under 600w hps, usually have between 8&12 growing in coco in 6L airpots. Benefits of growing 12-12 are you can run a perpetual grow with only 1 room or tent and 1 light and have multiple strains going. Last crop i had 10 different strains in jars. You use less power so that cuts down cost. It takes about 13 weeks roughly from bean to bud and Most of the time you get about 2oz per plant ive gotten 3 on some ak48, some people get more some less but that goes for all types of growing This run some of the plants are looking like beasts and ive still got 3-4 weeks of flowering left so hopefully i'll be getting 3-4oz of them. Hopefully

I bashed it until I tried autos. Screw those except for outdoors here in Alaska. Then I tried 12/12. Reduced yield for obvious reasons but more frequent yields for obvious reasons. If a guy were to start a plant a week or every 2 weeks until you started harvesting it could be a good thing 8). However at my house it got smoked too fast with 2 spine patients puffing away. 12/12 beats autos any freaking day and is a valid grow method in my book.

That's cool man, I'm thinkin along those lines of a perpetual grow. I actually have 4 right now about a week apart (anywhere from 32-37 days) and 4 more poppin out now, oh and now a clone..hopefully

In fact, with the right strains, and by NOT topping, you can get some huge chunk motherfing colas. I did on 12/12. A World of Seedss White Rhino X Mazar i Sharif made the chunkiest damned colas of great smelling bud. From their Medical Collection it is a wonder for 2 spine patients. We love it and it is my grown (MMJ legal) daughter's favorite over the last year. I continue it in my DWC using 18/6 and then 12/12 in my old set ways.

Also a G13 Labs OG 13 (their proprietary OG Kush) and a Reserva Privada Kandy Kush (OG Kush X Train Wreck). Damn that OG 13 rocked it good!!!! Killer bud that smells like you're sniffing & smoking Lemon Pledge. 1 hit buzz for sure!!! The Kandy Kush was the third fave here last year. All of these did very well on 12/12. A Dinafem Blue Widow was not quite as worth it yield wise but the smoke was most excellent.

For a really inexperienced grower I think 12/12 would work very well and is very cheap to get into for obvious reasons.

what about cloning for sex? what do yous say about that?
:wall:
Well the book says let plants pre flower for sex then take cuttings, otherwise you may stress the plant to much by putting a clone 12/12, but that it is possible to take a small clipping (2 nodes) and set the cut stem in water and 12/12 that and it will tell you the sex of the plant without having to put the plant in 12/12

great info Riknstein, I will def keep that in mind. I'm keeping three of mine inside and the two youngest will go outside in April. Not trying to push them too hard but I am hoping for some preflowers by mid March early April on the indoor girls. Cheers!

I've read that some Sativa strains are resistant to this, and can take up to 3-4 months to show pre-flowers!!! Don't want that, I'm a n00b and impatient..lol
The one I have now showed sex after about a month of veg, but you see how long she is taking to finish. (obviously with that and the bud formation mostly Sativa).
