For everyone interested in growing poppies!

To start with I am attempting to grow this plant indoors. From what I have gathered this type of poppy is ideal for indoor cultivation, which is the reason I chose this strain. I am using Shultz succulent soil mix and starting my plant in a 2 inch pot. At this point there are a few small true leaves, and the height of the plant is 2 cm tall. I started them in moist(not soaking) soil with a sandwich bag covering the pot to create a humidity dome untill the seedling emerged, with the temperature at a constant 79 degrees ferinheit. I am using a 30K 85 watt CFL(soft white spiral bulb), and I have the plant on a 12/12 light schedule. Also, I let the soil dry out completely between watering, and I am using a hydroponics fertilizer(from stealth hydro) mixed at 1 quarter strength every other day. I flush the soil once every 10 days, and mix a small amount of 3% H2O2 with all of my water, which is distilled.

you only planted 1?
Yes, inside I have 1 I will be taking pictures of to post. I planted tons outside, but I have them spread out over a large area. Also, I have some McCormick poppy seed spice left over from last year and have spread them far and wide. I try to do this with many types of psychoactive plants(localize them), or at least the ones I know will survive the winter. My grow room is packed as it is, and it is not a very large area, I mainly use it to keep my plants alive through the winter.

Peace out!

I planted mine in early September, but I guess that would depend on where you live. If you have bad winters I wouldn't bother planting them now, just wait till Feb or March. Make sure you till the soil, then just sprinkle them in the broken up dirt. Water the dirt before you sprinkle the seeds down and try to cover the seeds with a thin layer of hay or dead grass.

So attocchi do you grow weed too or just the crazy shit?
I'm learning from all of you. Why do you think I'm here? I have a 50 gal bubbleponics system that holds 6 plants. 3 turned male. The other 3 are just now starting to flower. I grow many different types of psychoactive plants, I like to surround myself with them.

You know, a lot of great men have had gardens with similar plants. Like Nostradamus, and many ancent kings. The 21st century has everyone quick to eat a pill for their problems.

I agree 100%. I personally believe there is a cure for everything found in nature. The powers that be don't want people to know this, tho. They want us taking man-made drugs b/c they can't patent a plant. It's all about the money.

no prob man. scripture about tha ganj intrigues me, as these southern-baptists im surrounded by believe in the inerrancy of the bible, yet prohibit a plant that IN THE BIBLE "god" tells us is ours and to manipulate to our best use. its an oxymoron, religion pisses me off sometimes haha.

I tried alternating bulbs and used a 65K 85 watt CFL(daylight) and it turned the leaves yellow. I will use the 30k(soft white one from now on) I might introduce the other light during the flowering period and use both.

you rock dude, interested in the poppy ill keep watching. and regarding taking pills, absolutely agree, i dont understand everyones obsession with pills, and especially letting kids take these substances. We have a trillion dollar pharm companies selling ridalin and narcotics to babies and their govt machine works it magic and it all goes unnoticed, but i heard a number recently of over 400k kids taking these drugs. and we wonder whats wrong with the kids these days. Ill tell you one thing, my kids will see a belt before they see a bottle of ridalin.
