Great post!

People growing MM is not rocket science. So I would add to the above post that a GOOD start would be a nice book on gardening....After that go ahead and read a book on Organics.
I can not think of a better starting book on understanding ORGANIC better then this one. It dispels many myths surrounding the "cult" views you may encounter here.
http://www.amazon.com/Teaming-Microbes-Organic-Gardeners-Revised/dp/1604691131/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377963143&sr=8-1&keywords=Teaming+with+Microbes+The+Organic+Gardener's+Guide+to+the+Soil+Food+Web.

Now that you have a basic understanding of how to grow plants, I'm sure you would like something more focused on your "plant of choice". So I'll suggest a few.

This is a good starter book if you need some help in designing a grow room or area. It also covers differing growing methods and their needs.
http://www.amazon.com/Marijuana-Horticulture-Outdoor-Medical-Growers/dp/187882323X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377963469&sr=8-1&keywords=Jorges+Cervantes+Marijuana+Horticulture+The+indoor/outdoor+Medical+Grower's+Bible

This fine book written by a friend of mine, covers many details about the plant its self. The difference between Sativa and Indica. It's growing cycles and needs and also helps with setting up and getting started.

Good Luck and grow on....

As mentioned above if you really want to get a foot up on growing your herb right and getting what you want out of them follow the links thank you much

And mad props to your crops

This is a good post, It will help a lot of people out who don't have 100's or even 1000's of dollars. I invested around $150 for my setup and acquired improvements over time. Ive learned a lot since building my setup and the one thing is for sure is that upgrades for cheap definitely improve your odds of success. I will be checking some of this stuff out as some of it is what Ive been looking for. Craigslist in my area sell MH/HPS High bays in lots for around $3000 But it works out to be around $30 a piece with bulbs. Good deal but you will have enough to grow a small warehouse lol. I'm using CFL's currently so as soon as someone sells them individually I'm going to invest into 2 of them :) + Rep

Thank you twizzlor I just wanted people to know especially new comer or first timers to not be over whelmed thinking there gonna have to drop crap tons of cash when they can make a nice little set up for cheap hope this helps all just a few tips I can help with

You can always go cheaper...

Most beginners kill their plants and lose interest in the first couple weeks. I think it's because of little or no gardening skills not the equipment they use or the money they spent on it.

Put your time and money into learning how to take care of plants or grow a couple vegetables before making the move and spending the money on an indoor cannabis grow.

Good luck future growers!

Followed the first link and bought that book based on your recommendation. I'm looking forward to learning more about organic soil growing and the micro heard and all that. Good stuff!
I already own the second book, and the third was added o my cart for when I finish reading the first.

Thanks for the handy links!

Ok I'll try to add a little money saver I came up with. If you want/need a wall-mount fan but don't want to pay the extra cost for that "specialty" feature, get yourself any fan with a pole...like any fan with a pedestal base.
Now get a flag mount and screw that baby to the wall.
Instead of hanging your "Bieber Fever" flag on that bad boy, go ahead and stick the fan pole in there instead.

Boom, wall mounted fan

= cheaper than this:

lol I could reflect my entire grow setup with $2.55 4ft x 6Ft is alot of coverage for cheap. My area is 42"wide x 16" deep x 6' High but I keep my plant lower with lst so the lights never go past 3 Ft from the floor. CFL's lol ive learned you must tie them down or invest alot of money in bulbs, sockets and wiring and your electric bill I'm sure will suffer if you down keep em low :)

I dont know if it is a cheap trick or not but if you have some odor problems you can mask it really well for a few hours by using extracts. I got a jar cap from a old mason jar and put a enough extract in it to cover the bottom then i put about the same amount of water. I place it infront of my fan and circulate it through my grow. Almond extract and peppermint work the best, cherry vanilla smell good but dont last long. I dont know i could just be a little crazy though. Check it out and see if it works its only temp but it could save your behind possibly.

Right on Twizzlor thank you for you little trick give it a try and see how it goes

Here is another one I got so take a glass jar screw on lid poke hole in lid put house in lid make sure air tight add some water,Yeast, and sugar and you have yourself a homemade CO2 generator hell make three or four if you want I have a couple remember just add more water and sugar and the yeast will eat the sugar and produce more co2:cool:

Believe it or not, that was exactly how my first grow was. Had some seeds from a reg bag, Cut open a bag of fertilizer that i got from the dollar store, stole some miracle grow from my mom, uesd a tanning bed heat lamp that she never used, and grew it in my closet in my bedroom before I went to college (2 seeds, both fem). It got so stinky my dad found it and told me to move it to the outdoor shed and if i got caught he would deny it. Got a half ounce and blazed with my dad on the road trip to USC. Graduated from college and been growing for myself ever since. Man i miss the 90's!
