Forced lollipop

I've got a plant who's top seems to be flourishing but the bottom leaves keep dying and turning yellow.

Here's a picture of the top. I'd say this plant is probably about 2 months old give or take.

Here's a whole picture of the plant and you can see how the bottom of it's pretty sparse compared to the top of the plant.

The bottom most set of leafs on this plant are about to get cut off if they don't start looking better.

Any ideas what might be causing this, here's a better picture of what the bottom most leaf looks like.

Any input will be appreciated, thanks!

I made this tinfoil enclosure before I read on here that white painted walls are way better than wrinkly tinfoil. My second plant that got decapitated I have put into a smaller enclosure who's sides are painted white. I'm using the CFL wattage equivalent to a 100 Watt incandescent light bulb.

So not enough light. How many 100 Watt equiv CFL lights do I want for a plant that is about 2 feet tall?

You have almost a foot and a half of stem. personally I would re-root the healthy part with much less stem and read up on the CFL forum for some more efficient ways to use them bulbs. You'll have time to learn a lot while it's rooting.

So how do I re-root the healthy part? Cut 4" beneath the lowest node at a 45 degree angle, apply rooting compound and stick it back in dirt and hope for the best?

How long do new roots take to grow?

Thanks again

i would imagine thats your best bet to re root,if done correctly it should take root in about 7-10 days..that plant is way to stretchy and lacks the foliage it should have, ditch the foil..either mylar or flat white anything, paint poster board etc..and if your only using 100 w equivelant(i think thats like 32w actual or somthing) your going to need like 5 more. you want about 100 actual watts for the one plant. and it looks a bit dim in there,is that bulb you use there like 2700k by any chance, cause it looks warm..stash the warm bulbs for now,and use nothing less than 5000k..after all is said and done, the difference will be night and day good luck!

I decided since this plant is about 6-8 weeks old already to skip trying to re-root it, because the one attempt of cloning didn't grow roots and I didn't want to chance not getting any yield at all.

I've moved it into a larger enclosure with flat white painted interior for flowering which i'm hoping to do soon, I have 4 27 watt 65-6700k now and ditched the warm bulbs.

I just tried out doing the FIM deal where you cut the top 80% of the new growth in the center of the top off to promote new growth rapidly? We'll see how that goes.

Thanks for the suggestions!

This is all experimenting for me. I didn't intentionally lollipop it, I damn near killed it and started cutting lower dying nodes off. So I figure it's a second chance to just watch what happens and fuck with it along the way.
