I'm about to harvest in a week or two. Cut off the nug I found it in and threw it away because i'm weird about the germs it touched. I still have a lot of good nugs though.

Seriously? Uh... why? That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard... You do realise plants are organic, as you are, covered in bacteria - humans are 90% bacteria... I don't mean to come across as a troll, far from it. I'm not into starting online fights. But this really has be gobsmacked. I fully understand the concern about certain bugs/animals being vectors for disease, but a caterpillar is fairly damn innocuous isn't it? End of the the day, it's you're plant, and you are in charge of quality control - just think this was an over reaction

Ignore him, bugs are gross and leave gross germs. You don't want the bud it touched. But don't throw it away, that's sketch. Give it to me, I'll dispose of it via incineration, it's really the only solution:bigjoint:
I'm not sure when it is too late to use but I believe neem oil is a good repellent for most pests like that (Although I would get a second opinion)

No worries wazooboo, a single caterpillar is not a huge issue, just examine the plant for additional pests.

I hear yeah, that would gross me out seeing that critter in my plants, time to release the agent orange and kill that nasty infestation
You can bet when you see one there are more lurking within, be very careful as those diseased infested slimy vermin will consume your entire grow

The nug looks like it'll dry out to .8 I'm not really devastated about the loss i'm just paranoid about 20 more appearing over the next few days.. and i'm just not a bug person to begin with. I know people who eat food of off the floor but I can't stand it regardless of how long it's been on there.

No worries, figured that might be the case about it being too late. But early on neem oil might not kill caterpillars but it certainly repels them, I have used neem oil to stop 'pillars and snails from eating stuff in my non-cannabis garden for years, it works like a miracle. Doesn't kill em but they won't crawl over it and they won't eat leaves that are sprayed with it. Might be something for him to consider for next grow if the 'pillars are still a problem early on.

You should be able to use Bacillus thuringiensis (Often just called BT powder) even this late in flowering without problems if other stuff can't be used.

Sweet, great advice.
