Found one seed, late flowering, week before harvest...what to do?

Before I panic I feel i must share the situation with you lot so I know how much of a problem I have...im 99% sure what I found today on one of my plants was a developing seed. It looked like a ball which was larger than all the other calyxes , it was growing on the bud but seemed to stand out from everything else. So i pulled it off, and sadly when squeezed it was quite hard inside , it opened up to be what looked like the makings of a seed (some white hard mini-bone typed shit). Now the next part of the problem is the fact that upon looking through my plants, theres not a male bannana to be found...and no other seeds . I havent entered any grow rooms so this leads me to believe a hermie is amongst us. I'm worried about leaving the plant i found the seed on in the tent (I'm assuming this is the hermie and just hiding it genitalia with its huge buds) , I was hoping to chop everything down monday coming , which means around 6 more days, which MAY be stretched to 10 days if im not satisfied with calyx swelling. However, do i leave this plant in there to carry on? or do i take it down early ? or do i take it out the tent and put it somewhere else for a few days (no other light source)?

The thing is , I dont wanna jeapordise yield and potency because the risk of a few seeds in some bud. But then i dont wanna ruin my whole crop and turn my 3 months growing into a seedfest by leaving the stupid hermie plant in with the others.

ANY HELP is appreciated, I would post pictures but I removed the seed before thinking of consulting you guys :/ but to be honest there aint a doubt about whether it was a seed or not(unless theres any other circular things that grow on a plant which feel slightly hard when squeezed) , it's more about me knowing what to do with the plant NOW.

Many thanks in advance

PS. i'll be checking frantically for more seeds and bananas soon as the lights come on , and will update you with my findings.

well if you havent found anything similiar on your other plants, then they might not have been pollinated.it sometimes happens that you find 1 or 2 seeds only in a whole crop of bud.
but if your other plants have been pollinated like that one you know has been, unless it was very recent, then you should be able to tell by now.
so if they have well developed seeds already, then give them another 10 days if you want.but if they have been recently pollinated then given them another 10 days might allow them to grow lil pips.
its a tough one.if you think they will be ready in 6 days then the sensible thing would be to chop now.
i like taking risks,so i'd do the stupid thing and give um another 6 days before chop.

A week before harvest?!? Are you cereal?

You could wave your hands over your head while running in circles, backwards, squealing like a little girl, or ..........

Just wait a week, harvest, and enjoy the smoke.

Your call.

lol so informative yet so indescisive. Its baffling me, i mean can seeds anyhow be produced in a last ditch attempt for reproduction without any hermie or male? but i hear ya, from those i've spoke to they said a seed or 2 is normal, it just dont make that much sense to me . It must've been recent but it's odd that iv never noticed any pollen sacks. btw lil pips are? And to be honest , 6 days is my estimate in terms of , they were predicted to finish between lastweek monday and yesterday, they dont look fully swelled yet, and 6 days would take em to to 9 weeks flowering which i think is about right. Trichomes are milky , not much amber noticed as of yet. But I mean, when your only growing 3 plants the risk of chopping down one a week early having a third of your crop be average smoke is quite daunting. But then again this is my first grow and I think i'm overthinkin shit. I'm gonna see if theres anymore hermie activity and work from there...thanks for the feedback.

LOL

I'm cereal bro, cut me some slack it's my first attempt and I don't know what to expect... in all honesty i've spent alot of money on this and if it were to fuck up i'd be very pissed off. Next grow, I may have the knowledge that a seed a week before harvest is cool, but as of now, to my beginner grow thumb, it poses it a problem.

But I definitely hear you, and accept I am probably over exaggerating. You ever experienced anything like this?

Yes I have.

Pollen is about microscopic and can travel for miles. If there was a male somewhere in a mile or 2, mystery solved.

Just one seed sounds like a stray pollen grain. A hermie, you would have more seeds. Maybe not a lot, but more than one.

You're good.

fast forward to year 2020, i have sativa flowering week of 10 , not yet ready ..maybe 2 weeks more. this morning i found 2 seeds at the bottom side of the plant. so how did you go with your experince then ??
I let it grow out. If you already found brown shelled seeds.. just let it ride. Pick them out when you smoke it (If you smoke) in 6 months you can have 5 more sativas in week 10 getting chopped soon. :eyesmoke:

My plant has already been chopped and I have about 85 seeds to play with whenever I get time. Didn't smoke the bud tho. It was a trashy bagseed plant. Made some butter tho :weed:

I left a male plant in on my first grow just because it looked cool when you shake the plant and didn’t know what would happen. Three female plants equals around 5000 seeds if you weigh them. Usually 50 seeds per gram
