Looks like algae. It won't grow in the soil, only on moist and exposed soil. Like if you were to water daily for an entire cycle. The plants will be fine otherwise. I've read that it can take away oxygen from the uppermost roots, if it develops. I've never had a bad experience from algae, just gross to touch

Am I okay using this soil? I found the patch in the first pic sitting on top like it fell from the side and I picked off the little bit on the side in the 2nd picture..other than that I don't see anything wrong with the soil..they may have been a few minuscule that may have got scraped off into the soil. Should I ditch this bag?

Once it gets mixed in the soil, it'll die off. Algae needs moisture and light to grow. I don't know how H2O2 effects the microbial life, but use peroxide mixed with water if you're uncomfortable

I'll take ur word for it and just mix up the soil real good...I used this soil to put an auto in a 1 gallon and few days ago and today I put some of it around the base of the stalk on my 2nd biggest plant..we'll see if it does anything to them..hope not on my gelato bagseed , it's thriving and I FIMMed it awhile back and it grew 4 tops, hopefully will be bringing it indoors in the next few weeks when I get everything set up.

If you’re worried about the soil, one good idea I’ve heard is to moisten some of the new soil and put it in a sealed jar overnight with the idea that if there are unwanted visitors, you will see them before adding them to your grow.

Bringing outdoor plants into your indoor grow space is probably asking for trouble.

I don't have an indoor set up yet but building it soon..so it'll be all the outdoor plants

Cool. I’d encourage you to take as many precautions as possible to make sure your indoor space is completely free of critters. I don’t even wear the same cloths to attend to my indoor plants after I’ve been working on the outdoor garden. Seeds are cheaper than oodles of pest treatments.

Yeah, I'd worry about inoculating my new, aseptic indoor grow with spider mites or some other difficult to eradicate pest.

Wtf is this? The top of.the bags soil was a little wet when I got it ...will this be a problem? Is it algae?
I stuck a clone in a bag of soil outside last year.. I went to transplant, and ripped the bag off revealing moss patches just like that. I cut it off, and everything turned out fine.

I had a few bags of happy frog that sat outside from the previous year. A couple of them had some algae in them but I never had any problems with my last outdoor grow when I used them.
