I live in a very humid area. Been using Black Gold, but the media compacts and does not drain well. I will be using FF soil and would like to know how much perlite I should add to the soil.
Thanks,
VM

You don't really need to put perlite in FF soils. You can but I wouldn't recommend using too much because the soil will dry out really fast once the roots get established.

Foxfarm soil is good to go really. Some folks do add a small bag to it for more air and drainage.

the more perlite the better just dont go over 50/50

the more air allowed to your soil the better.

cannabis loves to dry out and get watered.

loves alot of air to the roots.
why worry about having to water your plants often? the more they dry out and the more you add fresh water is alot better than having water sit in soil and go stagnant.

I've been using FF soils straight outta the bag for my last 3 grows. Never had a problem with root rot or stagnant water. For me watering can be a pain in the butt 'cause I have to get water from the store. If you don't mind watering all the time though go ahead and cut it with perlite.

Just because you have never had a problem, doesnt mean that there isnt room for improvement.

Perlite is ph neutral, it also has a slight water retension level as well. It does wonders for added airflow and creating air pockets in the soil.

More air = more root growth = more flower production

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
