FOX farms trio for autoflowers? How much light?

This is my 2nd grow,

I will be growing in a 2.5 x 2.5 x 5.5 tent, 3 gallon pots with pro mix HP...I will be growing NYC diesel auto's (4 plants) and I have been searching all over for feeding schedule with the fox farms trio.

I would like to know if anybody has a detailed feeding schedule for auto's with the fox farms trio and cal mag?

I am also curious as to what is the recommended wattage in a small growing space such as mine? I currently have a cheapo King Plus LED (king led 600). and am considering the mars hydro II 900, but my concern is that due to the limited height of my tent, the light might be too intense for such a small area.

Here is the schedule - use around 1/4 to half of posted amounts.
LED require less feed than other systems.
I personally never go over 1/2 strength.

So basically stick to their schedule, just feed 1/4th and work your way up to 1/2 strength during flowering? Do you feed EVERY watering, or every 2nd watering?

What about PPM? should I even bother to measure them?

Depending on soil mix ... It can carry plant WITHOUT ADDED nutes up to week 4-5
BEFORE using nutes , by then it will move into preflower anyways .

During preflower stage , i feed a light " grow " feed ( 2 tsp Big Bloom / 2 Grow Big ).
Once it goes flower ( another week ) i start " bloom nutes ".

I actually only feed around once to twice a week .....
Feed ...... Water ( ph 6.5 ) ..... Feed

Watering It will vary based on how quickly it dries and needs it.
Never overwater autos , they can stunt. Just enough to keep her happy.

Should I add calmag to the feedings? or only if I start seeing any deficiencies??

Here is a schedule that works pretty well ... Some strains are heavy feeders so your mileage will vary .... Lol

AutoFlower Schedule


This schedule can be altered depending on the time when your plant start flowering and when you see the first pre-flowers you need to start changing from vegetative to bloom nutrients. I need to also mention that this schedule is for soilless mix that has no nutrients in it so you need to supply all of them artificially.

If however I use soil with nutrients pre-added then I use a schedule like this:

1 week(seedling) – Ph adjusted water

2 week(start of vegetative) – Ph adjusted water

3 week(vegetative) – Ph adjusted water

4 week(pre-flowering) – 1/2 veg nutes

5 week(first flowers) – 1/4 bloom nutes

6 week(flowering) – 1/2 bloom nutes

7 week(flowering) – 1/2 bloom nutes

8 week(flowering) – Ph adjusted water

9 week(flowering & harvest) – Ph adjusted water till harvest

Calmag wouldnt hurt , i use tap water ( and PH my final nute mix ) to 6.5

I dont use RO or distilled WATER , with those you do add CALMAG because the water is stripped.

AUTOS are ridiculously easy to do ... Just pop and plant.

Autos hate :
Transplanting
Drying out ( drooping )
Topping
Defoliage ( removing fan leaves )
Cropping
STRESS IN GENERAL

They will stunt or lose yield if you are not careful.
Autos can AND do grow different looking plants EVEN FROM THE SAME STRAIN.

You are less likely to BURN and stress it out. They do not have time to recover like photo seed plants which has time on their side.

Don't flush them either .... By the time you give them water only in the last weeks it will be fine. Fox Farms DO SALT UP FAST but with lighter controlled feeds you dont haveto worry about that. Most autos will finish within 90 days.

I was planning on just planting them directly into the 3 gallon pots setting light to 18/6...and letting them grow straight up.

What are your thoughts on my lighting situation? any experience with mars hydro LEDs? the mars II 900, is about 420 true watts..I am worried that will be too intense in that small area. should I consider a lesser model?

I think I'm gonna do a grow journal...I just received 5 NYC Diesel seeds from cropkingseeds..The problem is the crappy LED light I have now, Although it seems bright, I think it's only really putting out 110-120 watts of power. I'm gonna put some money aside and get myself a mars hydro 2 900 which puts out 420watts.

I don't want to waste my seeds if my light isn't powerful enough to complete the grow properly.

I'm still slightly confused...with the fox farms trio, which are veg nutes, and which are bloom? Could you give me this schedule in a bit more detail, like which nutes you would mix for veg, and which for bloom? OR do I just follow the feeding chart week by week at the 1/2 and 1/4 of the amounts listed on the fox farms feeding schedule?

Follow the chart at 1/4 strength , gradually going to 1/2. Look for brown tips to let you know you are slightly overfeeding.

Grow Big is essentially the veg nutes .... Tiger Bloom ... Well bloom nutes.
Big Bloom is the Organic part of the trio. It has essential microbial nutes and supplements the plant and soil needs. It is the best out of the three.

They work together well , but it is easy to make a solution TOO HOT for your grow.
Thats why it is easier and wiser to gradually increase until you start to see a problem. Then you can back off. The problem is AUTOS dont have time to recover from missteps done during its grow ... So i start light and if all looks well ( why risk a fuck up ? ) or if i see explosive growth ( i ADD a little more feed at next feeding. )

I never had to go FULL STRENGTH. .....

Based on what you told me, I added this to the schedule you gave me:


1 week(seedling) – Ph adjusted water (big bloom: 7.5ml)

2 week(start of vegetative) – Ph adjusted water (big bloom: 7.5ml)

3 week(vegetative) – Ph adjusted water (big bloom: 7.5ml)

4 week(pre-flowering) – 1/2 veg nutes (big bloom: 7.5ml + grow big: 7.5ml)

5 week(first flowers) – 1/4 bloom nutes (Big bloom: 3.75ml + Grow big: 2.5ml + Tiger bloom: 2.5ml)

6 week(flowering) – 1/2 bloom nutes (big bloom: 7.5ml + tiger bloom: 5ml)

7 week(flowering) – 1/2 bloom nutes (big bloom: 7.5 + grow big: 5ml + Tiger bloom:5ml)

8 week(flowering) – Ph adjusted water (begin flush)

9 week(flowering & harvest) – Ph adjusted water till harvest

I switched everything to Milliliters instead of teaspoons because I will be measuring the nutes with a syringe.

My questions are as follows:

1) should I not be giving big bloom the entire cycle? should I remove it from the first 3 weeks?

2) when you say bloom nutes, should I remove the grow big from those feedings entirely?

3) does this schedule look good to you? would you change anything?

Remember to start easy on these ... But experiment a little .
Everybody has different conditions but you will get it right.
