Foxtail from stress or genetics?

Hey guys. Wondering if anyone has input on whether the foxtailing on this plant is due to genetics or due to some sort of stress. I read that purple strains sometimes foxtail due to their genes. Does anyone know how to tell if the foxtailing is happing for a negative reason? Below are some pictures of the plant. It's about 16 inches away from an LED 135 true-watt light. It hasn't shown any signs of light stress to my knowledge. It isn't hot at all in the grow space.

Whats your temps at canopy level? I honestly wouldnt be worried. They look awesome imo. What strain is that?

Thats stacked calyxes in my opinion not foxtails

Usually higher heats cause foxtailing, but your LED puts out minimal heat. I chalk this up as genetics, and it looks great! I love foxtailing personally

True heat can induce them but foxtails look different from that more extreme thats just calyxes stacking one on top of the other many strains do it actual foxtails are more airy imo

It's in a closet so its room temperature, pretty sure. Slightly more humid than the rest of my place but not much warmer. I have a fan that blows right above the canopy and the closet door has slits in it so it doesnt get too warm.

Not 100% sure, but purple urkle is what i was told. They were bag seeds

That definitely looks like an Urkel i saw before. Killer really, did you take clones of her?

High N can cause foxtailing, and from the looks you do high very high N, so it could be that

nah bro unfortunately i didnt. this is my first grow so didnt really know what i was doing. didn't even think to take clones

on the bright side, i have a bunch of jack herer bag seeds and im pretty sure theres one purple urkle seed among them. none of them are feminized unfortunately so even if i do find the purple urkle again, it might be a guy lol

thank you! do you know how i could treat the N toxicity? I use molasses (1-0-5 i think) and Fox Farms Tiger Bloom (2-8-4). Should i just never use nutrients/molasses again?

Those are indeed foxtails. Not terrible and they’ll probably fill out if you get them more light, less heat, or a better spectrum.

Straight water cures most tox. Your bad growth won’t recover, but your new growth will be good.

Always watch new growth, that’s what’s most important when you’re looking at feed strength.

If you're in soil plain water is your friend. You can try and reveg that plant by leaving some lower growth when you harvest and putting it under 24/0 light if you want to try and keep it.

Im thinking of flushing or watering next time with spring water, squeezed lemon juice (i use this regularly to lower pH), 1 tsp/gallon epsom salt, and just a bit of hydrogen peroxide to increase oxygen levels in the water. Is this a good idea?

Genetics but temp can increase it
