Shes doing good, all her leaves that were droopy are even more droopy now that I watered her, cause I really wasnt going to until today. But, that is fixable I believe, once this soil dries up I think she will be FULLY recovered. All of her green is coming back finally and she seems a lot stronger and sturdier.

Other plants are doing well, the Desert Dream seriously grows like 3-4 inches a day, im not even joking..........ugh, and ontop of it it seems like i had the initial branches, like the main branches... but everyday I wake up and open my tent it's almost like they multiply...I will have one huge arm in the morning with a nice top, but then the next morning it's like that arm has six new arms so not only is it getting taller, this shit is SWELLING up like crazy. All of this really depresses me though at the same time cause I wish I had the space/bigger light to give this plant all she desires to see her blow up... but another day.

will have pictures up a bit later more near the end of their light cycle :]

Working on developing my first grow room. Here is what I am thinking?

Dark Room TWIN Grow Tent - dimensions are total 4ft X 4ft x 7 ft with one room being 4x4x5 and one room being 4x4x2.

Space: In my basement with a 4 foot ceiling. Planning on laying twin on its side so height would be 4 ft tall, depth is 4 ft deep, and width is 7 feet wide.

Lights: hanging t5 flo lights on the sides of the tent rather than on the top, allowing for as much height as possible.

as an example, using the 4x4x2 room: hang two 4 ft/8 tube 400 watt flo lights on two sides of the room. adding the below CFL socket adapter to hang from the center of the grown room and dangle in the middle of the room while surrounding this CFL socket with 3 or 4 plants. The CFL should add anywhere from 250 to 500 watts.

Pots: planning on using square 3 gallon pots.

1) Is this too much or too little lighting for the small room?

2) comments on the 4 ft ceiling?

3) I have heard different things on exhaust: blowers vs fans? multiply Cubic feet
by 3? subtract 20% due to carbon filter? does anybody have the real skinny
on fans?

4) any drying recs? this will be in a cool basement with good temps, airflow, low humidity, and no critter access. Can I hang my plants for drying without any enclosure?

Eventually, I will add and move into the bigger room and start using both rooms either as one veg and one flower or two flower rooms.

Starting slow.

Thanks for all your help!

Drying dont let them get too moist. i dont remember the thread i posted about ventilation i think it was on jocos thread. there are a lot of variables to consider on ventilation. as for the 4 ft ceiling you may want to flower by height, which im sure you already knew just thought i would say it aloud.

yes i will be flowering by height, at around 8-12 inches.

way more light than 1000 watts?

i know 4 ft is low but it is what I have to work with...and I am hoping that with the side lighting that we grow out a little in addition to growing up.

When working with cfls and t5's? like i said i have never grown with cfl's or t5 but from the reading i have done. the concern is with lumen output instead of wattage and with the light spectrum bulbs you are using.

Someone care to educate me on cfl's?

t5's and CFL's have very little penetrating strength.. Maybe I have the wrong layout in my head from your description but how are you going to get light to the middle of the plants if you only have side lighting . or to the tops of the middle plants more specifically?

I was hoping to get some penetration with the CFLs dangling. Perhaps dropping some cfls in the center of the room with the plants around them (1 inch away of course). I can move the side lights close in so the plants are surrounded on all sides and in the center.

Now for the top: I guess I can add a set of t5's from the top and then just cut top back when I run out of room. THis will give me 4ft of height minus pot size (approx 8 inches tall) minus 3 inches of the t5's up top; that leaves me with a 3'1" plant.

Thoughts? This is a small personal grow so I don't need an enormous yield. I will also have the other side of the room to fill with more plants once I get the hang of it.

Stop trying to make this something crazy in my opinion and just go buy a 400W, why buy sixteen bulbs for one stage and thirty six for another and place them all over your tent hanging all over the place with cords and fans and water and more cords..... when you can just have one hood and one bulb?

in the long run you're saving money from not having to buy a shitton of bulbs anddd you're getting better quality than CFLS and whatnot.

you might want to try SOG or SCROGing if you only have 4FT tall clearance.... that or some topping / lsting / supercropping action would help tons.

I think I'm going to kill my hindu kush today, I really don't like how hindu kush smokes and I really don't like how its growing, it's really just a big fuckin waste of soil to be honest I wish I didn't rush to get more clones and sat down and took more time deciding on what i wanted rather just to grow shit.

It's just taking up room in my tent that can be used to space out my better plants with to where the tent doesnt fold back their leaves when I close it up and theres a negative pressure.
we'll see what happens.
