Friggin Bud Rot!

Hello everyone,

I've looked at a bunch of threads about problems with bud rot and seen some different things to do to get rid of it. Well I had to pull 3 girls (all Pure Power Plant) about 1 or 2 wks early, and clip off a bud (Early Misty) due to bud rot. Well I still have a 10ft. tall Durban Poision outside that I don't plan to pull until Halloween or after (takes soooo long to flower). Is there anything I can do (other than shaking water off the plant) to prevent the almost certain Bud Rot. I live in a climate that breeds this stuff like crazy, but can't really help that.

Thanks
NSB

PS. And no, build a grow room is not the answer Im looking for!

What type of strain did you find most resistant to bud rot? Early misty is supposed to be, but it still got a little.

Cool, I'll have to give em a try. I usually use Marijuana-Seeds.nl and have great results for seed purchase. They don't have those two. What bank can I find em?

Thanks

Not sure, no need for seed banks around here

Trainwreaks get HUGE and love the outdoors and there tough as nails:weed:

I would get some pics but my digital camera needs new batteries, and it takes a special "battery pack" . I will post some pics soon, but not of bud rot, of my babbies, and harvest. I am 100% possitive its bud rot. Same thing happened last year because of a rainy fall.

Thanks

I know there are some chemicals purported to be drying agents. But personally, no way I am putting ANYTHING on my buds that close to taking them.
I don't think shaking them helps. I still shake mine anyhow. LOL. Plant that is...never mind. A lot of rot starts close to the stalk, where various insects dwell and nest. The cocoons? often hold a drop of moisture and the mold grows from there.
I assume you are talking outside. I live around Pittsburg and for me: G-13 finishes soon enough that budrot is not an issue. Blooberry does real good, as does any of the skunk varieties. Unfortunately, I live in the wrong area of the planet to be growin' sativa. My preference.
I remember the first time I ever saw bud rot, my buddy had these monsters growing in TN and a plant got infected. He just grabbed a handful of rotten bud and tossed it on the ground. I was just a kid and about dove on it. LOL. I asked if I could have it and he just laughed. Besides his trust, he gave me something a lot more substantial than that little bit of rot that could ruin everything, if left unchecked.

Thanks cannasseur, and welcome to RIU. How's that g-13 anyway? Heard a lot of "stories" about it but never tried.
