From Aeroponics to NFT

hi everyone iam in the process of setting up my veg and clone room and was wondering if it is possible to root clones in an aeroponics system like the nutriculture x-stream 105 http://www.nutriculture.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=33&category_id=56&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

and then trans planting them to a nutriculture gt200 NFT bed. http://www.nutriculture.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=9&category_id=10&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

now a friend of mine said that this wouldnt work since you cant grow the roots of the clones out big and huge than transplant it to a larger cube for the nft system. Now im thinking there has to be a way to Root them in an aeroponics system the trasnplant them to a nft system. I know that the big piece of rockwoll is required for stability so if the roots on the clone are all long anf bushie would it be possible to cut a big hole in the large rockwool cube and run the roots through it and smash the rockwool together once the clone has been seated properly?

please give mme some suggestions if possible. thank you

Try using net cups with shredded rockwool or clay pebbles.
thanks for your response one thing i was always curiouse about with the net cups is how sturdy are they do they fall over easily?

what are mini cubes and trellis got a link? also i was wondering since with the large rockwool cube i place them directly on the bed with the netcups the roots would be dangling before they touch the bed(in between the root cover and the bed) and would at some point go dry right? i mean the rock wool has to be in direct contact witht he bed correct?

the trellis is the stability that you request

it looks like this

and these are what the mini grow cubes look like...they are still rockwool, just little and easy to put your aeroponic roots in
