Question now that I have PH Test strips, what should my target PH be? I'm reading an 8 on my straight tap water, and 6 when I test the moist soil...

Your soil acts as a filter. I wouldn't change it at all if your run off or soil is at 6. Test strips are ok but unless you are using a test meter u aren't getting a perfect reading. 6.5 is ideal for your soil and as long as plants are looking healthy I think you are good!

Feeding schedule and results are great : )

1.) The box set I got calls for three of the supplements AND three Main nute solutions to be used from week 1. I am going by the info of a good auto grower here using the SAME base nutrients only and holding off on giving main nutes till week 3 or 4 (he actually waits five but we use different soils I believe his is much richer than mine and I will start this process slow)
2.) Mixed .7cc of Rapid Start, .7cc of Floralicious Plus, and .6cc FloraBlend per Gallon very warm water. Tested at 6.5ph with provided liquid test kit. Soil tested 6ph with simple litmus strips afterward, and this morning.
3.) Posting multiple posts for comparison shots and pics of nutes for info purposes.
4.) 4 p.m. yesterday, used half gallon mainly (and equally) on SCH#1&2,WW and Dk. Purple and also used approx. 4 tbsp. each for Fruit Punch and Amnesia.
5.) Unless the sun comes up and they start showing nute burn today, then I'm calling this an absolute sucess! The comparison shots are up... to me they are fantastic looking..
6.) WW took some insect munching but appears it will make it. I can never seem to get a good focus on that one for some reason...
7.) Am starting with an every four days schedule with this mix and proportions (1 Gallon / 2 feedings)

Nutrient supplements used:

0.7 cc (for 1 gallon nute soution at 6.5ph) Rapid start:

Notes on my handing. Now that the plants are stretching nicely, I have been stressing them in two ways to promote some vigor.

1.) I inspect carefully but vigorously, turning plant and twisting stem slightly to peer at the underside of the leaves.
2.) A small, careful amount of pinching the stalk and some of the leaf tips. I do this because all through my life, people who have gotten big results (and some big losses as well, cause they were not careful enough) kinda treated their plants a bit badly....

Update:

1.) with the air pots and the F707 things can get dry quickly... watered yesterday and today keeping to the exterior of the pots so as not to wash away too much of the nutes. My goal is to have them all evenly saturated tonight and they will be evenly very moist throughout the media and I hope this will improve on the feeding (tomorrow AM) since there were some dryer places when I first fed them which I feel probably pulled the nute moisture away from the roots...just a feeling ; )
2.) The girls seem to like the F707, But, of all things...TOADS! I had to pull two of them out (1 from SCH 1 and 1 from WW) of the pots and found two other toad "holes" I had to fill in and compress... weird to me cause I never heard of THAT pest problem with weed before...lol

Update:

First can anyone concur with my assesment of the SCH's pheno's (item 3)?

1.) 3 1/2 days (not 4 technically) the other half gallon of above solution (NOT going to save any more mix / pre - mix nutes again hope I didn't screw something up). All equal portions except the poor little Amnesia (hangin' trooper tough like G.I.Jane, tho she is...) gave about cup and a half.
2.) Had to button the Ladies up so potential T-storm's Wednesday won't hurt them. Getting ready to be outta town till Wed. afternoon... amazing what a little heavy guage visqueen, a couple old rabbit-ear antennae and a hammer will do for ya.:-)
3.) I don't think I am calling this too early cause they germmed almost the exact time and have had all same environment, water and nutes. Got me a slightly Indica trait from somewhere, although I gotta check to see IF there is any Indica in the lineage cause if I remember correct, there wasn't...(?). SCH #1 is the Sativa with the thinner fingers and the faster stretch / veg rate comparative with her sister. #2 seems to be concentrating on NODES more than stretch / veg...gonna be a BUSH if my suspicions are correct. She IS looking about to catch up somewhere along the line and SOON by the looks...O.K. 'nuff said

Just gonna keep the make-shift shelter up and cover them when needed, plans got changed (long time postin...lol) and I'm in town till next week but the t-storms are still called for and rain today and tomorrow (and I don't want to let the nutes get diluted or the plants to get washed away...):

Just a demo with just one of the "stakes" driven in and no center support...the other side of the visqueen is under the pots on other side...

You may have baked some of your first seeds, covering them completely in sun with clear plastic will get very hot inside. What I do is take a opaque plastic cup and cut the bottom off and put it upside down over the seeds, this provides some heat and protection, but doesnt let the temps rise to the point it could kill your seeds.

I don't think so the beans I lost were as stated near center of pg. 1 (still bout 90% my fault but the the Incredible Bulk was dying before it broke the soil for some reason I can't fathom. It almost looked translucent and SO pale.) It was cool outside that day I put the clear plastic 1/2 pop bottles over them so the sun WOULD warm them up a bit and they were vented, too. The visqueen is only there now in case I need to keep them out of a downpour or t-storm. Averages temps have been 70F to 80F with a couple cooler nights and days when I first put them out. They all germmed inside in a controlled environment and brought in at night first few days (till last Wed.) And If we got a real slobberknocker of a T-Storm comin' I'll get them inside by a good S facing window and with a few CFLs and wait it out.

P.S. on "Update" posted above (5 posts up)...AWW...crap those were Not preflowers!

Pre-Flower!!!............Not! But - nodes / leaves>>> SO: exchange *[pre-flower or calyx]* with [nodes / Leafs]

Forgot to draw attention to the fact that the 2 SCH gals are both in *[pre-flower]*. Read through point #3 and look close enough at the pics up there will show this, as well as to what I said about the possible pheno traits... #1 had shown the first node getting tiny - stem hugging leaves that are hard to see (and impossible for me to show in pictures with this camera (going to be getting a tripod and Macro / Micro lens for my smartphone soon to improve my quality of shots)) while it's *[calyx's]* are more pronounced comparatively, While # 2's first node leaves are already separated from the stalk....Look closely enough and you can find all of what I'm saying here.

ALSO: PLEASE, please... If anyone can chime in on this PHENO difference that would be awsome.

Changing to indoor! Forking the room build to here:

https://www.rollitup.org/t/hickerbilly-budget-room-aka-this-thread-under-construction.912465/

1.) So Wednesday evening they got brought in and put under newly acquired T5 (one of two) till 2 a.m. yesterday. Lights back on at 6 a.m. till present...
2.) Also added 3 products to the nutes recipe. The videos I looked at made them look well worth it, but the one BETTER be worth it though - it's pricey, but I feel that it should be. 2 Two arrived yesterday. Need advice on when to feed... seen a lot of people let soil dry for the roots like wet/dry cycle...HOW dry should they be before feedding with just the three new suppliments?
3.) Is there a plant Dr. in the house? Getting a lot of curling leaves and on two SCH leaves nearly half a finger has "stopped" is getting very thin/dry and pulling other side of finger...lots of little isolated signs of...somethig <shruggs> which is why I need someone with a greener thumb... Burned the top of the Dk Purp w/new light:wall:.
So, here we go LOTS to catch up on <<"fricken stoner", he chides himself:dunce:(:>> gonna cut to current pictures...got too far behind...BIG difference, despite everything all the little things!

Yesterday 6 a.m. (last full day in sun was Tuesday, then right to the lights till 2 a.m., back on at 6 .m.):

IMAG0949.jpgIMAG0946.jpg

And at present:

SCH 1 (Day 17)(bits of random curling and two 1/2 fingers drying out...?) and for real this time: Pre-Flower:
