Fruit flies really?

Hey I'm on my second grow of big budda cheesus and I'm noticing some very small flies buzzing around and I mean alot of em mostly around the edge of the pot and on the soil but not really on the plants annoying little bastards I'm pretty sure thir not thrips cuz I've seen pictures of them in a high times but not sure what I got I'm only in my second week of veg can some one help me please

neem oil/water 50:50 mix sprayed onto the plants should get rid of them if not theres many ready mixed products available

why am i the only one who has tried this?????!!!

i"m in the same boat. Started noticing them a week ago. there where only a few but woke up today and checked the girls and now theres like 50 of them.. crawling on the top soil and rim of the pot. im on my second week of flowering. is it ok to use neem oil still?

id try to avoid spaying buds... but neem oil or chemicals i kno which id rather have on my plants
it will probably leave a residue on the leafs but tht can be cleaned off by spraying with clean water or just left on

Just checked out that website. That seems like a good product to use after i get rid of the fruit flies. I need something that"ll work now.

The flies aren't really on the plant it self. The are more just crawling aroung on top of the soil and around the edge of the pot.

i believe they are fungus gnats as i had them my first time, the guy at the hydro store told me thats what they were called and he said they usually come from eggs that are in the soil

Really? Your talking about the $10 one i was looking at the $53 one. Well for $10 i guess its worth a try. Thanks.

OK thanks. Yeah the soil i bought was stored outside. Never had an issue till i toped off the pots wit this new soil. I'll never buy soil from outdoors again.

i posted a thread about this so hopefully more people will catch on
