Wait just one second--were his actions stupid and immature? Definitely. But that doesn't change the fact that his rights were violated on the night in question. Cops (or hired muscle private rent-a-cops) don't have the right to randomly follow you around your neighborhood on the suspicion that you MIGHT be doing something wrong. Not only is this wrong and a violation of your basic right to privacy, it's lazy half-assed police work. I wonder if any homes in the neighborhood were being burglarized while he was being tailed for no good reason. The more that these types of irresponsible police actions are rationalized as them, "just doing their job," the farther down a very slippery slope we, as a society, slide.

his rights were not violated.... he acted suspicious, the security guard was doing his job.... shoulda pulled him out the car and whacked him with the maglite:lol:

Ok, you're right. Truth: A cop can follow you anytime he damn well pleases, and there isn't shit you can really do about it. Also, this isn't a question of right or wrong. It's more of reality verses a perfect world, which none of us live in. I count on lazy half assed police work, and I usually count on them doing things they aren't supposed to. They usually don't do their job, you and I both know that. I'm not justifying his actions at all, but this is how it works here on earth. It's the nature of the beast. An "18" year old who vandalized shit in his own neighborhood getting followed through his neighborhood at night isn't a horrible abuse of power.

wow 500 an oz is soooo disgusting. i grew 200 some oz last grow and i put em all in the streets for 100 a z 150 the most....maybe if everyone went lower and refused to [pay 500 an oz people would be forced to lower there prices.

Related story--a couple of years ago, my wife and I were spending a nice relaxing Saturday night burning and watching movies and I needed to go to the corner store for cigarettes and some snacks. On the 5-minute walk to the store I noticed a cop cruiser driving very slowly about 25 yards behind, obviously eye-balling me I didn't pay much attention and continued on my way. (I live in Toronto and can smoke semi-legally due to Rheumatoid Arthritis, so I wasn't worried that I was pretty stoned at the time). Anyhow, I come out of the store, shopping bag in-hand and sure enough the cruiser is waiting for me about half a block away. The cop gets out and asks to see some ID. I asked him why and he told me that I resembled a suspect in a recent burglary that night. I didn't have any ID on me but told him that since he'd followed me the entire way to the store that it should have been pretty obvious what I was doing and besides, I found it a bit hard to believe that someone was pulling burglaries in a pair of flannel pants and a sweatshirt on a cold winter's Saturday night. He said that he took it to be suspicious that I had watched him following me and had crossed the street to avoid him. (The store is on the opposite side of the street from my house). I don't think I got all that rude or aggressive with him, but I was pretty upset, not to mention freezing my ass off because what should have been a five-minute walk that I wasn't dressed for was becoming 15 minuutes out in the cold being harrassed by this prick, but he apparently felt the need to call for back-up because a black unmarked cruiser pulled up behind us and another cop gets out, unholsters his nightstick and just watches us, smiling. My anger at the situation quickly turned to worry because I was swiftly slammed down onto the trunk of his car, cuffed and told that I was, "going to find out what happened to people who disrespected a police officer." At that very moment, who shows up but my wife, (thank goodness), as she'd wondered what was taking me so long and decided to take the dog for a walk and find out what was keeping me. As soon as she got there, the cuffs were removed, the second cop left and I was very politely given a ticket for jay-walking. Although my wife wanted me to just let it drop, I was furious and wasn't about to take this lying down. I called the local police division and spent three hours getting the run-around before I was finally allowed to speak with the staff-sargeant who didn't seem particularly interested in my complaint, but finally after much hostility and sighing said he would look into it. I didn't think anything would come of it and I finally went to bed feeling angry and violated. Suddenly, at 4am we're awakened by by a loud knock at the door and I go downstairs, turn on the porchlight and see the same uniformed cop I'd had the run-in with earlier. The house still stinks of herb and I'm thinking this is going to get very bad. Instead, the cop sheepishly APOLOGIZES to me and asks for the jay-walking ticket back so that he can destroy it, althewhile there's another much older looking cop sitting in the cruiser, carefully watching the conversation unfold. I was absolutely shocked. To make a very long story short, this is why I don't think people should write off this type of police abuse as minor indescretions--obviously this guy was ripped by his superior for what he was trying to pull, (or at least for trying to pull it in front of a witness) and next time he gets bored on duty he'll think twice before he tries it with some other innocent person and maybe there will be one less person beat up or worse by some cop who's let his little bit of power go to his head. Oh yeah--and I really, really, really love my wife.

for real fuck 500 an oz, 200 is a damn good deal sir see thats what i would do, just sell it all real low real fast real dealers dont try and get the largest profit, they move their shit fast fast fast

another story, was when i was on the way to kmart with my 2 children, ages 5 and 6. their grandmother just sent them a dollar and they were going to buy a hotwheels.. on the way i got pulled over for running a yellow light. the cop looked in the back at my childs dollar and saw that it was rolled up like a snorting tube used for cocaine or whatever! and imediately made me and my kids get out of the vehicle to search it. for record i don't use synthetics and second would not think of doing that driving with my kids. he said that i threw the rolled up dollar in the back seat to play it off. i got mad at him for even suggesting such a thing and told him that i was going to call his chief and complain of this harrassment...then he said he was sorry and let me go! godd thing he didn't find the weed in the door...
