Fulvic and Humic - When and how much?

When do you add Fulvic and Humic acids to your rez, and how much in mL/gal?

Use both for every week you veg and bloom at 4ml/gal. You can increase that by 1ml/gal the 5 and 6 week of flower, then taper off again to 0 on flush week.

Might sound like a newb question, but what exactly are Fulvic and Humic acid for?
