Fuzzy looking trichs on cured bud

I got some amazing bud the other day and was checking it out with my microscope to look at the trichs and compare it to what I grew.

This is what they look like on my plant:



And this is what they look like on the crazy good bud:

I'm just wondering why the trichomes on my buds looks short and thick with very distinct "heads" and the other stuff just looks long and fuzzy. To be honest I don't even see as many distinct heads as the above pic shows... is this just genetics or does it have anything to do with the dry/cure process or potency?

Genetics for the most part. Some strains will have huge trich heads on them while others won't some stalks are long some are short, just depends. Health of plant ect ect plays into it too. Is the plant you have alive and not finished yet your looking at?
