general questions as a noob

i've been on here quite a bit but havent been very active. ive had three grows so far. first one ended terribly: went away for 3 weeks and left it under a light without a water source so naturally it dried up and died. Second one was somewhat successful, same strain as the first (kc brain mind bender). it was the cheapest strain i could find so i figured what the hey. started her under cfls and eventually moved it outside. got to about 4 feet tall. had to move her indoor during flowering and it suffered a great deal. Got 25ish grams out of it, very smokable but its a very light bushy bud. as a noob smoker it gets the job done.

my third grow is ongoing (white widow) that im doing a 12/12 from seed. right now its in a confined area 2ft tall 15x15'' base. right now with 4 23w 2700k cfls. I know the lighting is very light but it is only one plant. i do have 4 more bulbs standing by in case the original 4 poop the bed on me but i might just throw those in. 8 23w bulbs should be good for a short indica that im doing 12/12 from seed right? i have 1 120mm fan on it. the seedling is only 3 days old and i replanted it so it sits lower (i think theres a writup on here somewhere about replanting seedling with long stems). right now its impossible (not wise) to grow more than one at a time. should i do some LST on it so it stays short and bushy? that way 8 cfls in the confined space i described would do the job?

Get a 250watt HID. I dont know where you guys get your info from but CFL's yield is so small you spend more money on the plant than you get out of it. You guys need to do more studying, about risk vs reward

The more lights the better, but manage ur heat I've seen some short ass plants b4 just get as close as u can to not make it stretch

yea i was considering hid but my grow area is wayyy too small and it would be impossible to manage the heat. 5000k cfls seems too blue for a flowering 12/12 from seed. i def want to upgrade my lighting but my living situation wont allow it for some time so im ready to deal with 3928075889237854789238954789312 cfl bulbs if necessary for a grow. i figure if i can get all the techniques down such as lst and understanding nutes now it will only help me as i eventually upgrade my grow area. i just want a steady supply for myself. my first grow yield will only last me so long haha. plus i heard ww is a killer strain.

Make sure u get ur spectrum, I got 5 2700ks 75watt, 2 2700ks 200 watts, 2 6500k 75watts,

that seems pretty serious. is that for one plant? sounds like that would work for 3-4 plants
