Germed Seed Not Sprouting

So, this seed I germed before putting into the soil is on about day 5 of being in there, and there is nothing noticeable happening to it. Just wondering how long should I wait for before I can pretty much know its not going to do anything?

Many variables to consider. I put my seeds in a moist coffee filter in an open sandwich baggie in a dark place about 75 degrees.

Afte a day or two tops a taproot emerges.

Then I carefully place the seed making sure not to damage the little root with the root pointing up about 2x the depth of the seed size in a small hole I make with an I sharpened new pencil.

Oh and I water the 16oz plastic cup to runoff through holes I make in the bottom before planting. And the seedling sprouts a day or 2 later under a t-5 fluorescent lamp about 10” distance at first.

I have had old seeds take a week to taproot as they can have hardened shells. But once rooted they come up in a couple of days.

Yeah, I did something similar. I soaked them in a cup for water for 24h until they sunk, then stuck them in a open ziplock baggie, in some paper towel ontop of a seedling matt in the dark until their taproot showed, and they got put into 18oz cups.

i dnt even bother soaking them. i go straight into a paper towel and into a ziplock bag inflated with my breath. they always germinate within 24-36 hours tops.

sometimes seeds just dont sprout for any number of reason. start over and try again. it happens from time to time. at least to me it does lol. id give it about a week and you could probably gently disrupt the soil on top to see if the seed has grown any. i had a bruce banner bagseed not sprout recently, was looking forward to that lol. i replaced it with 2 glueberry og's though and they both sprouted a couple days ago.

Using these will eliminate your problem. I get almost 100% germ rate within 2-4 days regularly and by the time they pop the root is already growing out the bottom.
