Germinating problems. plz help

hi all. so my problem is that for the past few weeks i have tried germinating around 20 seeds and 3 have germinated. they are all bagseed and tried different methods. i have tried in a cup of water for 24hrs then planted. i've done the cup then put in wet toilet paper not paper towels, don't know if that could be the problem. right now i have 2 seeds in toilet paper then wrapped in a wash cloth on a heat pad to keep warm for about 4 days now and nothing. one was placed right in and the other soaked in a cup for 24hrs first. unless all these are just bad, i have no clue what's going on. oh yeah i'm using distilled water at room temp. any thoughts or advice would be great. thnx

This is what worked for me:

1. Soak for 12 hours

2. Place between TWO paper towels and keep moist

3. When tap roots are 1/4", carefully place in your grow medium with the root pointing down, about 1/4" deep

4. Keep the soil moist to the touch, not sopping wet

5. Keep your light on until they sprout, then switch to 18/6

My seeds sprouted after a couple of days. Maybe took a couple an extra day.

these seeds practically germinate themselves - if you're having this many problems the seeds are probably bad - immature, or too old or.....

probably bad, they just came out of a bag about 1 1/2 mnths ago. i don't think thats to old, but idk, thnx
