I am trying to start my second grow, first one in description :p

I forgot how long it took to germinate my seed the first go around, anyways i have my seed in a damp paper towel in a zip lock bag, on top of a tv box where its warm.

Its been about 60-62 hours, tomorrow will be the third day..

What do you guys think?

The seed is brown, not green or anything.

The bag has lots of condensation (i guess you'd say?) on it from the heat of the tv box, so theres definitly a lot of humidity, thats good for germinating i suppose?

you did everything right yes you want it wet warm and dark helps to remember we are mimicing nature as best as possible indoors right so when seeds are in the ground in spring its wet warm and dark........... i do this with mine in paper towel and a air/light tight container on my dryer or tv also and i also do scarification and mine pop within 10- 20 hrs ready to plant ..............scarification is when you take a file and gently file the little lip going around the seed down so the seed dosent have to pop or crack the seed using alot of energy it just naturally sprouts out effortlessly and mine are out of the soil within 3 days of planting them

you can stick it in a cup of room temp water for 24hrs thats what I do and place it in the dark. I dont think it really matter how you do it, Ive placed it right in the dirt and that works too. maybe the seeds are no longer good. IDK how long they last.

I use shot glass with regualr bottled water and 5 drops of 35% h202 in the shot glass.

Cover with a solo cup for 24-48 hours MAX and in that time 100% 1/2" tap root or more.

Works like a champ. No humidity dome, no voodoo, no ph water, no special sauce.. just that simple.

I'm going to try that then, I really want this seed to pop haha. Thanks and I'll let you know how it goes. Do you ever put in new water or not? The water will end up cooling down I assume

You did it right. You mentioned those seeds being a year old...sounds like they were not stored properly.

im just going to keep the one thats not germinating in the cup of water away, and check it in a day or so.....i decided to put the last one in some wet paper towels on top of the tv stand (in dark)...hopefulyl this works this time,

is their a way to store the old one that hasnt germ'd if the new one decides to pop open? I only want 1 plant giong not 2 >.<

In a drawer, ive read they don't need to be refridgerated as long as they are in an air tight, dark, cool place.
Perhaps, but seed banks use them for a reason. I use those little tupperware containers, then add a bit of rice and refrigerate. I made the mistake of placing seeds I had grown in a desk drawer, darkened and air-tight. The beans were fine the first year, some cracked in 18 hours. But a year later I had to toss them.

Damn...that really sucks i hope atleast one of mine comes through..then ill just order a few new ones and freeze.

So just to get this clear to make sure im doing it right, wet/damp paper towel, covering the seed as well, put in zip lock, put in dark place (in my case a cd case) and set on top of the tv box where it's warm. and wait

thats correct right?
