Germination / seed advice

Apologies if this has been asked before (probably has countless times) I've read lots on Google etc but I'm looking for first hand experience on how to get the strongest tap root .Quite conflicting on the tissue paper from start or the glass of water then tissue or direct into soil.Has anyone tried both ? if so which gave the best outcome ? T.I.A ** edit to add that I've had a few seeds go 'bad' so to speak ,emitting a white pus from rot so need to avoid this as best I can in future and was advised this was due to the moisture in the tissue **

I do mine in tissue. but I place in a glass of room temperature water 1st over night ...no more than 12hr. then transfer to white tissue on a plate spray tissue and place another layer over the seeds and spray that also .but do not soak. ..then place a 2nd plate on top to create the dark and seal. .and leave somewhere dark and warm . generally my seeds pop with a good tap root within 48hrs.I then place them in soil with tap root down and cover lightly with soil .2 days there normally up

I do the same, I like to see the tap root, but if I couldn't see it it doesn't mean its not there.. Most of the time I never soak but I did pre soak them recently and lost 4 seeds, I left them more than 12 hours, may or may not survived if I hadn't over soaked them. Nobody knows..
I use a zip lock bag or sandwich bag with moist kitchen roll folded over. Kitchen roll doesn't fall apart like tissue can.

Thank you both very much i'll give that a go ,third time lucky ,Im down to 10 seeds now ,I obviously don't have space for 10 plants but would you germinate all 10 to allow for loss of some as I'm finding it quite time consuming doing a few only to discover they haven't took and having to restart

some only leave to soak for about 5 hrs in water. most normal float but after a while with a little tap they sink..but I never leave more than 12hrs total.. when I place them on tissue and spray.I cover with another thick layer but I fold edges over smaller than the bottom tissue as trying to separate them otherwise is a nightmare

are the seeds femanised or just general seeds .. if there not femanised then I'd do all 10 grow them and then separate and remove any male plants

If U use tissue paper, dont used colored paper as it contains die, personally , i find the shotglass method is as good as any , each 2 there own, good luck
that's why I told her white. . iv seen people Try with coloured and it's pointless

Unfeminised sadly ,though I do think I know what to look for when they do grow to separate,I use the word think lightly though

I'm unsure if you can send a private message on here so I guess I'm going to have to ask this one in the open ,the tissue paper ,I was using standard toilet paper, should I be using actual tissue paper from a craft shop?

standard toilet paper but white only . a good few layers top and bottom but make sure you fold top one smaller for easy access

Thank you though I've just been having a bit of a read and it appears you need to have posted a certain amount of questions to be eligible to private message another member . Most seem to be doing it via email from what I've read, but I'm not all to sure I'd trust that ides so much, maybe I'll get my son to open me up a fresh email account whereby I could use it for this forum . It's good to talk to someone from the UK Mr Bud ,I too am northwest .

anything I can do to help just ask if I know I'll help .. there are many many more advanced than me .. but I do have the basics ..and tbh I thinks that's key . keep it simple don't over read into it . just go for what's needed . good soil .temp. humidity. try keep your temperature to 77f that's perfect. but any were up to 82 is OK .. humidity in veg stage 50 to 70. flower drop slowly to about 38. 40. I'm having an issue with humidity at the moment so a fogger is going in
