My heating pad stopped working.... I think it was older than I am

Im thinking about throwing a towel over my floor vent and moving germinating station onto the par for a few days....

Im assuming the occasional heat blasts worming the towel will work as a jerry rig until I can get another heat pad?

im just curious if the more intense occasional blasts can damage the little guys instead off help. the heating pad is low and slow obviously

That's a great idea. Just fold up a towel so it's like 4-8 layers, and put the seeds on that. Cover it with another towel.

Make sure though that you're germinating in a consistently humid environment. The excess heat may dry things out if you're not in say a Ziplock. I used to put mine at the front of my fireplace hearth.

If you growing from seed you don't want a 'dome' or anything like that. Just keep a careful eye on them to make sure they don't dry out toomuch. Light moisture and fresh air is what seedlings prefer.
