Ummm no. You obviously aren't in the engineering field. We use it ALL the time.

ft² IS NOT AN INTEGER IN AN EQUATION. When people add money up and then put a "$" symbol in front, does that mean the "$" symbol is part of the equation? No, it's a symbol to represent what the number expresses. " ft²" is short hand for square feet just as "$" is short hand for dollars.

Now, stop arguing, you're wrong on so many counts.

Also, wiki agrees:
Square foot - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reading retarded shit like this makes me wonder if pot really does make some people stupid.
OMG, peolpe no one is wrong but im not wrong either. i guess no one is trying tohear what im saying.

when u add 2+2=4 u dont say its 4² thats all im saying

actually a 2foot x 2foot box = 4ft² or 4 foot square, however you want to say it. And you dont use addition to come up with square feet. You measure one side of your box/space, then the other opposite side, then you multiply the two in order to calculate square footage

i understand that, ok so the surface space of the box would be 4ft² not the volume/space the box has that would be cubic witch is off topic alil.

im just using addition to show that other guy an example, he's comparing $ with ².

again for example if i have $4 and you have $4² who has more money?

with measurements its some how different.

for example: if i have 4ft of wood and you have 4ft² of the same wood we would not know who has more because u just dont have only 4ft of wood as we live in a 3demensional world

You seem to lack the comprehension skills to understand whats being explained to you my man.

"again for example if i have $4 and you have $4² who has more money?"

This is where you're getting screwed up. Like I said, when it comes to square footage, adding ft² to the end of the sum doesn't mean you square the resulting area. It's already been squared by multiplying Length x Width and you're expressing this by adding ft² to the resulting sum.

The ² means SQUARED. It DOESN'T mean SQUARE THE SUM. IT'S NOT PART OF AN EQUATION JUST AS ADDING $ TO A SUM IS NOT PART OF AN EQUATION. IT'S A SYMBOL, NOT AN INTEGER!!!

If that doesn't make sense I can't think of any simpler way to explain it. Either you realize this and are simply being dificult, or you truely lack the understanding. This is fairly simple shit though, like 6th, 7th, 8th grade math. Maybe earlier.

And yes, YOU ARE WRONG. About this, about a square meter equaling 40 inches, etc. We can't all be right while coming up with completely different answers. You seem to have difficulty admiting you're clearly wrong. Given you were so eager to say "I'm right, wow that feels good" I can't help but think maybe you haven't made it past this rudimentary math level yet and thus it's why you simply don't understand.

And no, I'm not comparing $ and ². I'm comparing the dollar symbol "$" and the sq ft symbol "ft²". The addition of "ft" is crucial to making this work and you continue to omit it as if it were not even important. It's the key to the whole damn thing :p.

As far as 4ft vs 4ft² of wood. You're comparing linear feet to square feet. To answer this question the width of the boards is the determining factor as to who has more.

in 1m sq there is 40inches sq, there is 40inches in one meter, huh
Man you are fucking hard-headed bro. Your math skills are lacking and yet again, YOU ARE WRONG!

1m² = 1,550 in² (roughly, some decimals in there)

There are roughly 39.37in, or 3.28ft, in a LINEAR meter. That means to convert a square meter to square inches you would use the equation:

39.37 x 39.37 = 1,549

Just give up already. You're not right and no matter how much arguing you do, you're not going to be right.

39.37 and said 40 when done off my head, but because u want me to be wrong u drag this on.

40 x 40 = 1600 and 39.37 x 39.37=1549

pretty dam close to me, remember i rounded up to 40 whaen done in my head. but it seems like u just wanna argue and carry on. u must be 9 or something hopefully not.

40 x 40 means 40²
the sq route of 1600 is 40
given 1600 is off because again i rounded up whaen i said there is 40inches in a meter exactly its 39.37.

y when i say its 40inches in a metter u cant understand that for some reason if i say 39.37 it makes u feel better.

since there is about 40 inches in a metter then 1m²~40in² , 1m x 1m=1m²
40in x 40in=40in²

but this is making u upset for reason's i dont know, im not hear to get know one mad just to see peolple grow pounds:weed: instead of grams:cry:

Oh but it can be done many times over...

MBlaze gets over 1.5 POUNDS per plant...

Here's his link and a room with 3 of his girls...

Pics of the new girls

Thanks for the mention bro, im surprised people are still arguing about square meters . I couldnt care less either way and ive never even bothered to measure my room exactly or measure how much space each plant takes up because its irrelevant to me. I just work with what I got regardless of how many square meters and all that shit.

I couldnt resist throwin up a few more pics of the 3 big girls since you already posted one

M_Blaze i need your secret, lol imma get there soon enough
Theres no secret mate, I just give the plants a good environment to grow in with a good feeding schedule and they do the rest although I do get them to grow the way I want them to by Fimming and training them.

im changing my process instead of going with alot of medium size plants imma veg, train, lst,TLC and put 5 big plants into flower at atime and leave the leftovers to veg even longer.

my problem is that i have little resources i need to maximize

since there is about 40 inches in a metter then 1m²~40in² , 1m x 1m=1m²
40in x 40in=40in²
After this I'm leaving it be, because you just don't get it.

40in x 40in = 1600in² because in² means square inches, not square the sum you idiot. I am getting frustrated because I don't think I've ever seen something spelled out so easily and yet someone still doesn't understand and persists that they are right.

2in x 20in = 40in²

GET IT!?!? :wall:

I care about a lot of things. I care about my trees, which is why the one plant I'm harvesting tomorrow is gonna net 12-16ozs in a 1.5m² tent.

Stupidity, especially when someone gives you the right answer, is something I don't care for. Math is an important aspect of growing. Know it, love it, and it will pay you back. Happy growing.
