Get Rid Of Root Rot?

Just started my first grow about 2 weeks ago. First set of 4 plants are about 3 in. tall with about 6-7in. roots from bottom of netpot. Starting to see brown on the roots and the water in the res is getting very hot it seems like. Feels like bath water to the touch.

There is also a stink in the res. Im using Botonicare Pro Grow and Sweet. I used the recomended amounts for seedlings and it seemd to I got a bit a nut burn so I took some water out and put in fresh about 3 days ago. Seems like the burning has stopped.

Thanks

it shouldnt smell like anything but clean inside ur res, i cant describe the smell other than just clean, chemical humid cleanliness if that makes any sense, like when u sniff in there u shouldnt think odor, u should think clean smell, also if its hot to the touch its way to hot, u want it acutally cool to the touch, around 60-65 degrees, go to wal mart and get a thermo for lkie 2 bucks is the brown rot like jelly? is it stain? are the roots actually brown themselves or can u wipe the brown goo off?

Have a bigger problem now. I tilted up the lid of my res and sat a comp fan between the two. To try and cool off the water some. Came back about 20 mins later and my roots are shriveled. I bet if i even tried to wipe the brown off now I would break the roots off. Anyone else ever done something this stupid? Should of know that was going to happen but sh it happens when your high.

The stench smells like my nut solution sitting in 90 degree weather. Another thing my temp in my grow cab is at 95-100 since I added 2 more tubs. Right now I have 4 comp fans running throughout the 4 chambers of my cab and its still that hot. Any cheap idea's to cool things down? Also trying to be stealthy.

How can I cool down the water in my res? I think a large part of it being so warm is because I have another chamber below and to the side of this chamber. So it has light heat all around it. But the other two tubs are still cool to the touch, unlike this one being warm.

1.remove your plants off the res, get 2 chairs set them in between,

2. flush ur res put cold water in there with half strenth nutes,

3. get water bottles, fill with water and stick in ur freezer

4. get the fan off the roots, ur dehydrating your plant, do not do that

5. add h202 to ur water, probly like 1 tsp every gallon, personally i dump the h202 in, but dont be stupid, only a tiny bit

6. take the water bottles out in the morning and tie them or get them to the bottom of ur res somehow, do not let them touch the roots, freezing cold water will stunt them,

u need to relax man, theyll be fine get the fan off them and flush them, get some cold water in there asap, u have root rot because ur temp is to high

also its way to hot in there for ur plants, u gotta get them cooled down asap, even consider shutting the light off for a bit, are they 24-0?...maybe try 18-6, thats what i use

Well the babies have come back around. Thier standing back up and the roots seem to be rehydrating. but some of the roots are still shriveled guessing this will stunt the growth some.

Right now the lights are on 24/0 but switching them to 12/12 this weekend. Hopefully this will cut the temp down quite a bit. Setting all 3 of my flowering chambers on the same light cycle so there will be 12 straight hours of cooling besides the lttle bit of heat coming from the mother/cloning chamber.

I almost lost a mom to root rot. Well I kinda did and kinda didn't, I turned her into 30 clones. I flushed the root under warm runnimg tap to get most of the goo off the roots then it went into a cleant sanitized bucket. The prob seemed to get worse and that is when I decided that it was her time. After pruning it down for clones I left the rest of the stem in my bucket with the system still running til I could come back and properly tear it down. The damn rot is clearing and 1 stem that still had some small fan leaves neaer the bottom is flourishing. I used h2o2 and hygrozyme to treat my water. My other plant that was showing the same root rot has cleared up. Now to fix my ph issue and nurse it back to health to flower.

Well so far 3 of the 4 plants in this chamber have shown how bad I hurt them. Spotting, yellowing, and burnt tips are affecting those 3. The roots have seemed to bounce back quite well except for one of them. Surprisingly after looking at the roots today they look great actually. Except for some that are still shriveled and the browning from root rot I guess.

Another thing about this root rot. The substance on my roots isnt exactly slimey. It is a bit but feels more grain like than slimey. Is this nutrient lock? So happens that my nutrients are a brown color.

Also figured out a great way to cool off my res. Chushed ice. Worked friggin great. Thanks for the idea about the water bottle. The crushed ice melts very quick so the water never gets close to a freezing point. Threw in a couple hand fulls of crushed ice and it dropped the temp from bathwater to very cool to the touch.

Also, I haven't been able to make it to hydro shop in a week so I haven't been able to pick up any ph down. my ph is currently around 7 from what the paper dip tab. How bad will this effect my plants if I kept it at 7?
