Q: Are you coming out with other models besides the SGS-160 or XGS-190?
A: Yes, stay tuned for a new A51 series grow light around June/July 2014 (date subject to change).
Bingo. And it seems the announcement for the smaller 80 watts panel has vanished.... wondering if its still going on. Wasnt it supposed to be out between feb and april?

Exactly. 120w when using just the white veg mode...then 155w when you kick on the reds for flower.
Ah..Greengenes707 I saw your thread on the Blackberry and complimented your grow brotha, nice job! Since you use Apache, would you recommend the SGS as well? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on four units to fit inside a 4x4 tent. Do you guys think this would be equivalent to about a 1000w HID?

  • Apache at600(4 at200's in one unit) and 4 a51's is the same price basically...$2K. So if anyone is thinking about getting multiple lights, apache is not as expensive as you may thing. Ya buying the at200/120's may be pricey, but the at600 is a decent bang for the buck, specially when talking apache. Anything less than a 4x4 a51 has a price advantage, but after that it's pretty close considering it all.

Just curious do you know anywhere that sells the AT600 for $2K? The few places I've seen them they run $2400. Looks like 4 SGSs would be $1830 with the multi-unit discount and the DISCOUNT50 $50 off.

I would hold off on the SGS's and wait till this next light comes out I bet it will be more powerful than the SGS and red and white too, I am looking at buying one as well if they are red/white.

The red/white 160 is getting revised, and there will be a smaller 75w model as well, also red/white. Pre-orders should take place early next month.

In June/July there will be a whole new series, separate from and in addition to the new 160 and current 190.

NICE!!!! Thanks for the confirm.

Oh and one thing I don't recall seeing mentioned as of yet.... Can't beat that really.

2013 Area 51 LED SGS-160 +
2014 Area 51 LED XSG-190
model warranty coverage:

Bumper to Bumper warranty:
We will replace any part that fails due to manufacturing defects during the first 24 months, free of charge and we'll pay shipping.

In the event that the light needs to be sent to us for repair (highly unlikely, the lights are designed to be easily fixed and future upgraded by the customer), the customer pays shipping to us (they will be fixed in the USA), and we'll pay return shipping.

After 2 years we will still offer replacement or upgrade parts), but there is a fee for parts, it will be sold at wholesale pricing, which will be roughly $250 for the entire lamp upgrade, and shipping will be cheap because no heat sink or case needs to be shipped. That $250 is subject to change in the event that we ever use more expensive LEDs than the original, though that price will not increase much at all, if at all.

Well I need LED now...so any futures that come out I'll just have to say fuck it lol. I've been looking at the Grow Evolution Bud Boss 343 even more. It has an actual 343w pull +/- 3%. So two of these in my 4x4 would almost give me 700w, not too damn bad. 1 unit retails at $599, but if I buy two price comes down to $525 for a total of $1050. Four SGS 160 would give me 620w total, but at a price of $1830 which also includes the 50 bux off discount code.

Decisions...decisions..

If you're buying multiple units like this, get in touch with Area 51 before you make your final choice, because they will give you a volume deal.
I use A51 myself and highly recommend them.

They already have the "Quantity Price Breaks" right next to the Add To Cart button, 4-7 panels gets a price break of $470 each instead of $525. Are you trying to say they will wheel and deal better than that? If so that could be the determining factor in me buying these over the Bud Boss 343.

Idk if youre quite lookin at it right.. One of the best things about the SGS is the low draw at the plug. You can find A LOT of lamps that will draw more at wall but it's not as easy as 100w=100w=100w. Also, I think those are mostly r/b 3w leds. Don't be fooled by the fancy packaging boss, but hell go holler at budbro if you want some first hand advice.

You're looking at lamps that don't have so many grows, and we are telling you that you cant go wrong with Apache or A51. If you want to be one of the first/few to show us how good the lamps are, then please do by all means.

OP, sorry to jack your thread, but this is the closest I have come to recontacting Jeff...

Jeff, been trying to get in touch, through A51 email + RIU PM, since we last spoke over the holidays. Either my emails are going to A51 trash or...?

Almost ready to harvest 2 clones under the 2 ufos you sent me. Yesterday I was looking at the clones under a magnifying glass and noticed no discernible calyxes.

Can't point directly to the all white as I miscalculated mixing Sea Crop minerals about a month ago, and burnt the shit out of the primary leafs. This happened at ~ the same time that calyxes should have started showing up, so...

Please PM me to see whether you still have an interest in me doing a thread on IC
