Getting Started Small w/ CFL's...Again...But a little bigger this time.

So I've bumped up to a 56"h x 21" w x 14l cabinet, but am currently only using the top chamber. 2 plants started from seed. Germed sometime between March 31/April 1. Cracked and showed taproot fast and within 24hrs both seeds were in peat pellets and in my new "dome". (1 confirmed female, 1 pretty sure...) Just flipped to 12/12 6 days ago after vegging for about 6.5 weeks.
The confirmed female is a Herijuana bagseed (one of two seeds in entire crop... I am assuming from some late nanners popping up or even a possible bubba kush pollen contamination coming off of the grower as he went from room to room) I did not grow it, just know the guys who did and got lucky enough that they did not want it due to it possibly becoming a hermi late in flower or from overstressing. (I'll take my chances )
The other plant is an unknown bagseed that looks a bit like some Afghani. Long, flat, ligher fanleaves that are a bit whispy compared to the dark, short, fat, sturdy leaves of the Herijuana plant.
I simply did a little LST to the Herijuana and now have a nice, thick, low, somewhat even canopy. On the other plant I attempted some topping and then a little LST after the 2 main colas established themselves. Now the canopy is pretty even with about 5/6 cola like shoots and a few side shoots off of those helping to fill in the blanks.
All of this taking place under 2 68w Warm White and 1 65w Cool White CFL's. I have an additional 150w of smaller CFL's (26w and 42w) from my first attempt ready and waiting to be used as possible sidelighting or even "underlighting".
For exhaust I have a simple 50cfm inline booster fan mounted top center venting out thru the back of the cabinet. For intake I have 2 4x4 and 2 3x3 passive intake holes.
Temps stay pretty steady with a peak of 77F (lights on) and 66-68F (lights off). Average temp during lights on is usually 74-75F.
As far as nutes go, I have used the "Recipe for Success" from Technaflora Plant Products. It came with pretty much anything a noob would need to get started, especially for a small personal grow like mine.

Today will be the first day I use the Flower Stage nute mix. The vegetative mix worked quite well. Started light at about 1/8th strength and worked my way up. Never made it to full strength since I am only using 1 gallon grow bags and FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil. No signs of nute burn or any defficiency.
This is only my 2nd attempt at growing and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been lurking on RIU and other Cannabis growing friendly sites for about a year now, so I know a little bit, but there is always room for improvment right.

Looks good.. What are you going to do when you run out of room? I started my current grow in a similar sized setup.. Had to move it to three different places before it was in its current spot..

I'm planning on taking out the middle shelf that way I will have a full 56" head space rather than one 26" chamber and a 30" storage cabinet. The first box I built at home had a total of 17", after pot height and lamp room there was only about 9" left for my 2 lil ladies to grow. That grow was more of an attempt at trying to stress the plant to the max and see what would happen. This run will be a bit more about trying some "advanced techniques" like topping and LST, try and get a feel for how much work each plant will be if I decide to go bigger.

Man, lookin sweet. I just built a 3' x 4' flowering chamber and moved to a hps for flower. I'm so glad I started with cfls. And I gonna keep cfls for vegin. Your fuckn plants are lush. My first few grows, themembers here were tellin me to add more lights, even though I had 15 positioned around 2 plants. I'm tellin you the same thing. Those plants are so lush if you max out the lights and can control the heat, those fuckers will PRODUCE! Great job. The difference between hps and cfls is pretty big and with hps you dont have to keep screwing with the lights. I bought a overhead 400 hps gym light on Craigslist for 25 bucks and made a cool tube set up for less than a hundred. you'll double your yield and those nugs will be dense. I wasnt concerend with my yield innitally. I just wanted to grow. going to hps doesnt have to be hard or expensive and you have the room. Ill keep checkin in. I got to find time to post my grow. I got brainstorm, papaya, sweet purple, aurora, and red cherry berry, veging now. and apollo and aurora flowering. I think your doin the same or better than I was , so its great to see things bumpin for ya. peace

Well, unfortunately my one and only "female" has gone hermi on me. Totally expected it to w the run of luck I've had recently lol. No worries tho. It is still early enough to go pick up a bottel of Dutchmaster Reverse. Read a few reviews and user posts about it and it seems to work. It will be nice to have around after this round as a preventative too. I'll get some pics up soon after I'm done picking at my balls rofl.

So try number two isn't a complete loss, but my Herijuana is a hermi. Almost completely female though. (I can't currently make a trip out the the grow shop to pick up the DR so I'll just keep pickin')Out of the 11-12 larger tops that I didn't chop (only two branches looked male dom. so I cut them) about five have two spots that had a single sack showing... all that were visable have been pulled. They weren't far along at all so I'm not worried about pollen at the moment, and I stress AT THE MOMENT lol. I flipped "it" over to 12/12 on 5-13 so not very much to show really. Still plenty of hairs popping out of the tops, but nothing to really brag about.
I dropped 3 more nice looking random bagseed beans into a small "windowsill herb garden" pot with some ff soil and a bit of "Press N' Seal" across the top to keep in a little bit of heat and humidity. Those are currently in my "veg box" that is ironically filled with veggies. 24 hr light 4x23wcfls spread around the box evenly. Box temp is holding steady at 82f but soil temps are a bit lower due to the pc fans.
I thought about chopping "Harry" after discovering his sacks, but after I talked to my "mentor" I came to my senses and decided to try and keep up with the castrations since there aren't many... so far... so until Harry finishes or gets to be too much to handle I will continue to flower that, and hopefully have one or two ladies more than ready to take "its" place.

So all three new bagseed have popped and 2 are breaking the surface. "It's" (hermi's unofficail name... somebody help me pick a name) actually starting to look pretty good. Bud formation is deff looking like some Herijuana is supposed to. For some reason it seems like sack production has stopped, of course it's hard to tell if there are any new sacs mixed in with all those hairs. I'll get some pics up later today.

Ok as I said I would drop in and probably read it. I glanced at a few things and you say they are only on day 26 right? If so the trichromes done start developing heavy until later into bloom. Don't worry they will show. Later in the grow try to give them a little uv during their day and it will help trich production too. I hope you aren't spraying anything on them this late into the bloom. Bud rot is the worst thing to get for a first time grow. It doesn't smoke without making you sick... All that being said I say they are looking absolutely beautiful. Maybe a little more water and less nutes though at least nitrogen. Hope this helps

So I went thru and added up the N-P-K values in the flower mix I have. Without the BloomBastic I was thinking about adding next week my values are at 8-16-21. What should I do to lower my N, and should I add the BloomBastic? (I am only giving half strength mix currently, that seems to be just enough for my lil half a plant lol. any more and I think she will start to burn.)
