Getting yields but not quality?

Hey guys got a quick question. Ive been running barneys farm critical kush for awhile now and have been getting great yields off of it but the potency just isn't there. I have been cloning from clone for probably few years and getting same results. I was wondering what would be causing me to be getting such good yields but mediocre quality. The strain is suppose to be pretty good could it be that I got a bad pheno or genetics? Or could it be that I'm not growing it properly?

It could be both of the above or a mix ....also could be your getting use to it if you've grown so much like you say ....and you say you've been taking clones of clones for years ??

Yes I run perpetual so I take clones of the ones in veg before thrown into flower

Damn you've been smoking the same strain for a few years? Time to switch it up. There's your problem !

are other folks also telling you this? Maybe y'all are just burnt out on that strain?

Since it sounds like it was mediocre from the beginning, I'd say bad pheno selection.

Imho critical kush is exactly that.....a big yielder of mediocre quality. There are much better genetics available even if you want high yielders

Yea I'm gonna be phasing it out soon. Looking into some. Thc bomb. Green crack. Blue dream or ak47. Ive been getting great yields from the ck anywhere from 2.25 to 2.5 per light but the potency isn't where it needs to be I guess

Try adding sulfates.
It's what pepper growers do to add some spice

My gg4 clone is still strong as ever even after 4 yrs. I clone from a clone from a clone, repeat for 4 yrs.

I grow about 10-15 strains. I have to switch it up from 4 of my elites, to dabs. Never smoking the same strain for a long time

Is there a way I could be growing the strain poorly but still getting huge yields. Or are yields correlated with health of the plants

It's called BAD genetics.........and poor breeding. All you can control is the health of the plants, not the quality of genes. If the plant was healthy and produced buds that looked great but don't offer a good buzz, blame the seed breeder. I felt the same way about the C.K. myself!

maybe a ph dip sometime critical, maybe overfed/underfed maybe change bulbs/strains/nutrients/substrate, maybe atmosphere controls are whacked. maybe this is the only strain you grow/maybe not, and the others are subpar or maybe perfectly expressed?

too many variables to pin down in a thread. review grow habits, get some Humboldt chemdawg seeds and soar!!!!!!!

Are you growing in soil?

While the environment can play a part in expression (good or bad), it sounds like you may just have a dud pheno and need to hunt for something better. Also already mentioned here, smoking the same strain/pheno constantly is going to build up your resistance to it, switching it up regularly helps deal with tolerance buildup.

I'm on my 4th run of Critical Kush and this will be the last because like you said good yield but potency is lacking...Got some Blue Dream going now day 61 of flowering and from what I can tell the yield will be at least the same as the Critical Kush but hoping for a lot better potency.
