What's the verdict on this product? Is it "safe" for organic growing?

Can't find much info on this vs their General Organics CalMag+ product. Looks like both have iron added which I understand could be considered a salt. What CalMg product do you prefer for organic growing with RO water.

It's a waste of money.

Put Calcium in your soil and don't worry about it. Make sure to put available forms such as Calcium Sulfate (gypsum)in on top of unavailable forms such as Calcium Carbonate (lime.)

I use Calcium Sulfate which is partially soluble in water. I mix it into my soil and put it into my water when I'm near flower to give my plants that extra Calcium bump they need when their roots stretch.

That or make Calcium acetate with egg shells and vinegar.

Thanks MR. I'm in the process of gathering all my soil amendments which will include the calcium supplements you mentioned. Once I mix it and let it cook I'll be good, but in the meantime I need some CalMg in liquid form for the plants I have in a basic potting soil.

I'd like to grab something quick off the shelf but I want to make sure it doesn't contain any salts.

magnesium carbonate is an inorganic salt

It has magnesium nitrate, hexadrate, and iron DTPA in it.
On the plus side it has pre-digested calcium carbonate and amino acids.

So I'm assuming this is a yes on it containing salts? I know EDTA is a synthetic salt, but I'm unsure about DTPA.

Is the General Organics CaMag+ a better option?

Yes, some salt. Same with CaMag+.
The new recipe now contains magnesium nitrate.
DTPA is a "groovier" chelater than EDTA.
Neither one have enough "salt" for any concern in your situation..

Just use Calcium Sulfate. Like I said, it's partially soluble in water and you'll see results pretty quick being it's a Sulfate.

No need for calmag products or anything bottled for that matter.

Depends on level of deficiency combined with how much Calcium is occupying your exchange sites.

I'd start with a gram per gallon and if you need to, go up from there.

synthetics are way better faster results bigger yeilds good job not ans op question at all
