GH Flora Series - Trio VS Micro/Bloom

Hey guys, curious on some opinions. I have the general hydroponics flora series nutrient trio, bought the medium sized bottles when I started growing a few cycles ago. Ive been doing some research and alot of folks are saying they only use the micro and bloom parts in 6ml/9ml per gallon and dont even use the "grow" line.

I had never heard of the mix and have been following the label on the back of the bottle using all 3 parts, at a lower level, but I also go subpar results, and was thinking of making a change.

My next grows will still be in coco/perlite, but I am going to try and treat it like hydro and water many times a day once roots are established, so I am going to need to purchase needs to prepare. My well water has quite a high ppm to start, almost 400, so I may scale back whichever mix I do with.

Just curious how the 2 vary from one another, does either have a benefit or a more balanced "diet" for the plants?? Just a small 3x3 personal grow not looking to break records, but efficiency is good!

Cheers happy growing

You are talking about the Lucas formula.... it works. Also in my opinion straight coco sucks why the hell do you want to hand water a few times a day. If you are talking about efficiency that is the total opposite. Mix half parts peat and coco and water like a normal person.

I wont be hand waterring, it will be automated drain to waste

For my last 3 runs in coco I was waterring every other day when the pots were light, treating it like soil with wet dry cycles. Id like to try and run it like hydro this time. Im just not sure if I should run the trio, or the lucas formula. If there is any benefit to one way or the other. Cheers

Sorry, I assumed you were hand watering my bad. Lucas formula works .... I haven't done it personally but have seen it first hand with the powdered maxibloom at 7 grams per gallon.

The lucas formula simplifies the system for you and provides everything a plant needs. If at the moment you have all three you might as well use them and switch over when you finish your supply of the grow bottle

Thats my dilemna lol , Ill have to do the math but Im guessing these 500ml bottles wont last a full grow waterring multiple times a day. Im guessing maybe 1.5 gallons a day will be used in my small garden. I think I would run out I'll have to pen and paper it thats the only way my mind can visualize something like that

Hard to do the math without knowing how much I will be using each flood. I know I can water a 2 gallon smart pot with about 700ml from fairly dry to saturated, but if Im waterring multiple times a day the coco will already be saturated and will likely take less before I get run off. One of those "have to do it before ya know" things I suppose

Did some more research and I feel confident the Lucas formula is a proven method with cannabis, so I will likely only restock a jug of each Micro and Bloom.

Wish my well water had a slightly lower ppm so I knew exactly what I was giving the plants, Im to cheap to pay the $80 test fee to have it analyzed lol, I do know what ppm Im giving the plants, just not exactly whats in those 400 mystery ppm it comes out of the tap with
