topped today when i got home from work

the first set of fan leaves are starting to die off...

now 4 weeks from seed

the bottom leaves are starting to die, i hope this doesnt spread. i havnt really been overly alarmed though, as david said his first 3 sets died.

its still only 5 inches tall. but has been getting much bushier.

i cant decide if i want to go ahead and try to flower it or stay in veg another week or so.

the leaves are very very very dark green when its out of all the cfl light. i took it our of the grow box to take these pictures originally, but the plant's leaves are SO DARK that it looked like it was in the shade, even sittin under my floor lamp... so i had to put it back in the box to see the plant in the pictures...lol

no suggestions?

Do you want a taller plant? Put it in a bigger pot.. Watch that bitch shoot up in hieght..

i dont have room for a taller plant. i have a current limit of about 30" height, but can add another foot or soe if needed.

my main concern is whether ive given enough time for the plant to mature enough to show sex when i switch to 12/12

i topped it last week to keep it short. short and bushy is my goal.

lookin good.... id say another week then u should put her into 12/12 to minimize how tall it gets

i dug it up and re-potted it, but in the same pot. the soil had settled a lot and there was like 3+ inches of open space in the top of the pot, so i replaced everything with fresh soil from the same bag as the first.

The roots had sank with the soil and were touching the bottom of the pot, trying to even grow out of the bottom.

I was affraid of shocking the plant too much, so to change it, i turned up the pot gently to dump out as much soil as i could, then dug around the roots to bring them all out in one big bundle. i just sat it down in the trash bag in the old dirt. so the roots were never really out of dirt.

I watered it pretty well with fresh water, no nutes, when i re-planted.

Its responding well even just a day after. lots of new top growth if you compare my pics from the last update. also look at the old pictures and look at the difference in the amount of soil in the pot

how tall is she?? so far i mean

only like 6 inches or so. not really tall, just really branchy/bushy

i've topped it though, so it would be taller, you can see from the top pics where the tops are growing out now.

Im thinking i will start 12/12 tomorrow. i get paid and will have some extra $$$ to go get all new bulbs and a new splitter to add another bulb.

Should i just go from 6500K 18/6 straight to 2700K 12/12? Ive read about people giving the plant 24 hours with no light before they flower? whats the advantage/point of this? Should i try this or just go straight to 12/12?

i'd go str8 to 12/12 but thats just me..... some people give like 24 hours of darkness to induce the plant to show sex..... i didnt do this so i dont know if it works..... also, keep a couple of the 6500k cfls to even out ur spectrum... like 1 for every 2 2700k's

I put mine in total darkness for 48 hrs... But King is right it dosent matter....Inducing flowering from seed with a 12/12 will cause plants to show sex, male or female...So I don't think there is really any advantage any way....And keep both spectrums (Just Like King Said)!!!!lol....Holla

ok no darkness. and my plan was 4 2700K and 2 6500K?

Doing pretty good. i trimmed off a few dead leaves, you can see i left them in the pot.

the individual stems are starting to all point upward and fill out pretty nice. looks like if she is indeed a she, i should have several "top" buds

what size/brand bulbs did you use?

i dont remember the brans there were several..... but all the 2700k's (4) were 23 watts apiece and the 6500k's (2) were 26 watters
