Ghost Train Haze #1 (Indoor) LED veg & HID bloom - Soil Grow Journal

Started my Medical Grow of Ghost Train Haze #1 Feminized! I'm about 4 weeks into it from seed. I procured the seeds from Attitude Seed Bank. I have always gotten great seeds from them.

I am growing in a Vivosun 96" x 96" x 80"Hydroponic growing tent. So far I love this tent. It has some tiny pinhole leaks hear and there but nothing to be concerned about for my purposes. I use two Monena 3000W full spectrum dim-able LED grow lights. During the veg phase I dim them periodically throughout the day to help the tent stay a bit cooler and I believe it more closely mimics the varying sun levels throughout the day. Some might say this is unnecessary or that I might be robbing myself of a better yield. But that's the great thing about growing. You can experiment and do things the way you like and feel most comfortable. It's all about the peace in the end really. Being overly concerned with yield can tend to take the fun out of the whole schi-bang.

With that said I am also using 2 inkbird controllers for environmental control. One is for temp and the other is for humidity. I am very happy with these controllers and they work exactly as they should. Now that doesn't mean it's set it and forget it. As the ambient and outside temps change I fine tune the environment in various other ways to compensate for those temp changes.

As far as the other equipment I'm using...I have a large dehumidifier purchased from Menards. And no, of course I didn't send in the 11% rebate :wall:. I have a run of the mill cool mist humidifier, a 4 inch inline fan that I use to draw cooler air into the tent when needed. I do not have all my ventilation setup yet but since temps outside have been cool and I veg LED...heat hasn't been an issue thus far. However, I suspect in the coming days I will need to put my portable floor unit AC in the tent. As for now I'm just using the inline fan and a couple box fans on low. I do also make use of a "Kill-o-Watt" monitor to have some kind of idea on how much power I'm consuming and at what power factor I'm consuming that power.

I would also be negligent if I didn't mention on of my favorite pieces of equipment and that is my Hukey Dust Buster (see pic). No, it's not an air cleaner thought it has a HEPA filter...it's my hand held vacuum. I use it to keep my grow tent spotless. Cleanliness is next to godliness! But no seriously, keeping as clean of an environment as possible is best, especially if you are one that truly takes pride in your grow and product quality. It will help keep the plants healthy and disease free. Not to mention help with pests. Never leave any decaying matter in your grow area. Neva' Eva'! :p:eyesmoke::mrgreen:

I believe that about covers the basic equipment for now so let me get to what you see in the pics. As you can see, it is my think tank, my chill spot, my meditative space! IF you know me, you'd know that I can turn a walk-in closet into a cozy comfy and dam livable space! :hump: The added benefit of this is that my CO2 levels spike to upwards of 2000ppm ahahaha. I am my girls enrichment. Additionally, my grow area is in the basement where the CO2 level stay around 1200ppm.

So as mentioned, I'm about 4 weeks into this grow from seed and things are moving along swimmingly. The girls look healthy and are demonstrating solid growth daily. Especially now that they are really developing a solid root system and are taking hold.

That's about it for now, thanks for reading, feel free to comment and be safe in the Covid-19 Era.

After looking seeing your lights, I am really starting to second guess my choice of grow light. I bought a high rated 900 Watt off-brand on Amazon. The lights you got are going to be way more productive. I can't wait to see your buds.

Thanks for the post. Those lights right now are only running on half power. There is absolutely no need to use HID lights for VEG. Provided that you have enough lights to cover your area properly. I actually only paid $110 for each light, but you wont find that deal...I approached the seller directly on Amazon to work out that deal. LED in veg in s the way to go. Also I supplement my budding phase with the LEDS showering the sides of the plants with light instead of just from above. You'll see how i do that in approximately 2 months lol. I also always use a secondary light in the case that one light fails.
