Girl grower needs help! - what's wrong with my babies? Why are they doing this???

Foliar feed with a little GH liquid karma for stress, why not? I would. Put it in the reservoir even as a general tip. There's always a runt in the litter in my experience, but I'm not an expert! Everyone here says heat stress, but why are the other plants OK? Not sure I'd narrow it down to heat just yet. Lets even say it's a virus or a pathogen. Throw some H202 in the reservoir just to be safe and send some oxygen to the roots - can't hurt unless you're using organics only. Don't know the amount exactly, but a tbsp per 2 gallons can't hurt, maybe less to be safe I'm guessing. I miss hydro. :( Look up H202 application rates on the site to be safe.

Also, are you using a proper pH meter and all? Looks like a SH bubbleponics setup; they give you strips. Also, no tap water!

Look into Cal-Mag for the MG possibility too. That and liquid karma will serve you well!

idk what the closet setup is, or whats under the hood. Its uniformly taco'd, which should give clues. Light issues wouldn't be uniform, you would see burns, discoloration, and healthy leaves too. I was thinking it could be a weak seed, it looks so different from the rest. They're all getting the same food, water, and light. The only other thing I can think of right now is air circulation, maybe its in a spot that doesn't have any, and the leaves don't cool down. It just looks really thirsty. I'd mist it several times, 20 minutes apart, when the lights go off; mist the stem and dolomite too. Do that for a few days if you have nothing else to try.

perhaps the genetics of that particular seed were a little different, poor breeding from the seed company you purchased from. Weird thing is it looks Sativa dominant and should be more heat resistant to the other indica doms in the bunch. You actually dont need to bring your RH up at all so long as you can get your temps into a better range of 75-80F

First off, your temps are way too high, and the extremes way too far apart. I never go over 83 or under 70. Usually 72-76 for veg and 72-80 flower. You need mid 50s to 60 RH for veg and under 40 RH flower, I'm low 30s to high 20s. You really can't get too low for flower. 600w mh is way too much for 5 plants that small. I'd use 4 2' t5s @ 100w total until they get about a foot tall with the plants that close together. My recommendation is a 4 4' t5s @ 200w if you space each plant about a foot apart. Since you only have those 5 plants, I'd get a 400w CMH and blow a fan directly on the bulb, for flower. For sativa I'd need two 400w CMH. But since you are doing indica, I think one will do. My sativa get to 3 feet or more when I veg to a foot, which takes about less than three weeks veg. I just made another batch of clones today. I should keep track of the total days until a foot growth. My 4 4' t5s get a temp of 76 in the same environment. Just to give you an idea of how hot a single 400w CMH fixture is.

CMH are very cool for a HID. My temps never get over 83, usually about 5 degree increase over room temp. My res is 80. Res temps in 80s are only possible with a zyme. My roots may get a bit browner than I like, but my leaves stay bright green until flush. $10 for zyme is way cheaper than making it cooler. I personally run a Ph of 5.9 and let it drift to 6.3 before ph down. But I rarely have to. Maybe once every 2-3 days,if that, sometimes even over a week.

My next grow I'm adding silica. Aerosil is $16.50 per pound. That's enough to make 2.25 gallon solution or 1712 gallons in a res. Compare that to $78.25 for the same amount of pro-tekt.

nice post, You might be able to get away with your rez at 80 with that zyme stuff, but your water isnt nearly as airated as it would be a lower temp.

Your quoting your temps as being 90 degrees but you have your thermometer in the direct light, so its a very inaccurate reading. Put it somewhere that the light isnt going to heat it up but still at about canopy level. I wouldnt toss that weird plant you have there but I wouldnt let it be a deciding factor in how you treat the rest of the plants. I would pay it no attention and focus on the others but let it stick around at least for now.

I have plenty of air. 4 stones and 15.6 liter of air for each 3 gallon bucket. Two 30"x30"x30" lst plants. One 400 CMH 14" from the top.

light/heat issues do cause these types of symptoms, not just what you have stated.

its funny to see the same thermometer i use lol

The warmer tempurature might help the roots grow bigger faster too eh?
I just did it for the hell of it. The roots are massive, 16" long and 8" wide mass. Mostly white with some brown unfortunately. 18 weeks from cutting to chop in three more days of darkness. It was s fun experiment, but I won't ever do it again like this, unless I can grow outside.

6"x6"x18" gets the most bang for the buck. It harvested at 13 weeks and got 51 grams. Pretty good for a sativa.

Definitely not changing the way I treat the rest of the plants based on the one's development. Once I add the fan the temps will go back down to the 80s which would be ideal. I've read that other people have experienced similar issues and in many times it was a case of genetics. Exactly..each one is getting the same heat, food and water so I would imagine that if it were an issue with any of those things I would see the same "symptoms" in the other plants.

At the very least I've found a very healthy mother! This is my first grow so I'm kind of learning as i GrOw ;)

As for the thermometer - walmaaaaaart!

Why would I put the thermometer anywhere but on level with the plants. I understand that it's directly under the light, but so are the girls! I don't think the reading is inaccurate.

Anyway..thanks for all the input guys!!

Because your trying to measure the temperature of the air not measure how much heat is radiating from the bulb. Imagine if the weather man were to just leave his thermometer out in the sun... he'd be trying to tell everyone its 150F outside when it wasn't. This is exactly what your doing.:eyesmoke:

clearly you missed my point. Let me rephrase. You and your sister are sitting at your mommy's kitchen table eating the same food together. You start to wither and die. Gee, must be what you're eating? No, because sis is lovin' it. Must be your weak genes or something, right? You're just giving up on life.

I last checked them this morning and they looked pretty much the same. I increased the nutes last night and am hoping they will respond well. Lights off until 4PM so I'll post some more pics & discussion then. Happy New Year everyone!

Some basic information; Stress-induced trauma include withholding water, photo-period fluctuation, low light intensity, ultraviolet light, nutrient toxicities and deficiencies, cold and hot soil, ambient temperatures and mutilation. Also, do you have the proper quality equipment to help you diagnose issues that may arise?

Darlene I'm a little confused by your post..while that info may be helpful for someone using soil, this is a hydro grow. Also, as stated before, I have just increased the nutes and am awaiting their response. What equipment should I have to help diagnose the issues? I'm using this forum for just that ;)
