Quick question:
I have aquired a GSC - thin mint - clone and will be making her into a mother. My question is on Flowering time. How long in the flower room befor harvest? I heard its a 9 week strain , but I can't find any real difinitive number.

Thanks in advance

Right now I am in 3 week flower. I'm pretty sure the gsc is a 9-10 week from what I seen online.
I am going to upload pics now. I have to transplant its bitter sweet its good the roots are strong and growing
but I don't want to.shock them I'm gentle though.

Hey there guys, long time member/lurker but I never really post. I am very interested in this strain because of its supposed lineage with an F1 Durban :hump: I am so happy to see the pics on here look like my GSC's. I was a LITTLE worried about the legitimacy of the genetics, but the other patient even had the finished product which was phenomenal, so we traded.

So I got 5 GSC clones that were VERY healthy. "the original thin mint, no platinum in here", as the patient put it, heh. Must have meant he doesn't like the Platinum Cookies? Anyways, I am going to throw down pics and videos of my humble grow. I update my youtube channel with grow updates at LEAST once a week, usually more liek 3 times a week. So if you would like to see them finish (I always film them til the end), hit the subscribe button! It may also help some of you other alleged GSC growers out to watch them grow and watch me make mistakes that you can then learn to avoid. Here is my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/poztpwned

Here is what they look like today! Note that they are PERFECTLY lush green, like a shade of green that makes me so happy to se on my plants, so dont get thrown off by the HPS spectrum, my plants arent yellow i promise! :P

They are doing great, but they are SOOOO sensitive to my feeding. It is actually becoming a problem now that I am flowering...they do NOT want nutrients. They are THRIVING off of ph'd (5.7) water only. Whenever I try and give them a TINY (and I mean tiny) dose of nutrients...they become instantly over-fertilized....so overt-fertilized that I can see the plant start to droop within 30 mins-1hr. Thats when I flush them....and they spring RIGHT back up. So idk how to feed these girls during flowering yet. I am going to have to really test the waters which worries me.

I am using GH Flora series 3 part, standard stuff i always use, and these plants are just super sensitive to it or something. Anyone have any info on why these clones are INCREDIBLY sensitive to very small doses of nutrients? It was the same problem during veg, i fed them once, they got overferted, and i never fertilized again until a few days ago where it happened AGAIN, even with the plants at a good size and the dosage of nutes less than 1/10 the recommended dosage.

Anyways, I would appreciate any info about this weird nute issue I've run into, although my plants are thriving on plain water, not something to get all crabby about. I'm just worried that when the time comes for the plants to need nutrients and show signs of deficiency (if they ever will, i mean jesus, how are they living with no nutes so well?) that I won't be able to give them a proper feeding and will, yet again, over-fertilize them...leading to me having to flush them in my bathtub which is a huge bleepin hassle.

Pictured below are the GSC clones when I first got them home, literally took this pic when i carried them out of the car and set them down. They were great clones, not a stick with two leaves on it in a party cup, ya know? Plus they traveled well for a 45 minute drive, they were still perky even.

Pictured below here are the GSC's right after my first ever feeding on them with 1/4 strength dose of Supernatural Gro Terra (20-20-20). You can see how it is terribly overfed even with 1/4 strength used for ferts, look at how droopy they get whenever I try and give them just a tiny bit of food. By the way, I highly recommend Supernatural Gro for veg, it is a one part mix, so it is very easy to deal with and provides VIGOROUS veg (especially on my past grows, like I said, these GSC's dont liek any nutes i give them.):

And pictured below right here are my trusty Girl Scouts on day 3 of flowering. which as i type this now i am realizing was just yesterday, lol. the video is more up to date.:

wow bro lookin good! Where are you located by chance....

Are you using any type of Cal Mag ? I have been growing the same GSC which looks like both of the cuts that are on this thread. My first sample run with it (RO Water) I used Cal/Mag at full strength and had no issues. I must also note that it was during Aug/Sep and the conditions were HELL for me. I cut it a few days early at 54 because I was relocating and it came out FIRE. I am currently in week 5 of my second run, I cut back on the Cal Mag this run and been having issues with yellowing tips and edges, rust spots, some purple on some stems. I started using cal mag with every water and feeding , and have not seen any issues , just a bunch of fat greasy colas that smell sweet then like licorice then like dry coco pungent yummy.

That is actually awesome advice since I have a full bottle of Botanicare's CalMag that I haven't been using. I am growing in FF Ocean forest, I don't know if you use organic soil/coco because CalMag has different doses for the different types of grow mediums. I will definitely start slow with the CalMag and move up if needed. Really super solid advice man, I think this will truly help out with my nute issues. And by issues I mean them thriving on no nutrients (it just doesnt seem right. ya know?!).

Anyways, thanks so much for your input.

Haha, so true. It's a rapper strain (which I am not too fond of it being, I'm a Super White Boy :D), but I really got interested in it when I heard about the actual lineage. Because first of all, I have always wanted to grow some legitimate Cherry Pie, and second of all: Durban is straight up greattttt medicine no matter how it looks...if the Durban-y, cookie-like smell is there it means it is great medicine. So I am thinking that a cross between them that has actually gained some attention for being good medicine will come out excellent.

But yeah, dude, I remember when barely anyone had heard of GSC, now there's some rapper rapping about it and all of a sudden everyone likes it! Funny what advertising can do to people.

Hello again Girl Scout weirdos :P

Just another update I wanted to make in this thread, thanks to racecarsandweedjars's post. I even give you a shout out in the vid for that CalMag tip on this strain, it really did help.

I wasn't aware Berner was actually saying it was HIS strain (I don't listen to that crappy music), I thought he was just advertising it or something. If he says GSC or Cherry Pie are HIS strains than he is an ass. We all know PieGuy was the breeder behind all of that.

Hey Wonderbread. Just browsed across this thread today and noticed your grow. I was glad to see in your 2nd update you put something under the 3 planted in the smaller containers. It looks like all your plants are stretching just a little bit too much. They look great, but if you let them get uneven from the light source you're going to end up with and uneven yield. So I suggest you do your best keeping the top most colas even, so you can keep your light source even throughout all your plants so there wont be anymore stretching. Good job maintaining the lower fan leaves. It looks really clean down there from the over-head angle of your plants. I can tell this isn't your first grow.

Yeah, the 3 plants in the 3 gallon pots definitely needed a booster seat to reach the top canopy level and make everything even (thanks for noticing!). They MIGHT be stretching a little bit in that vid since it IS "the jump" (day 1 -~[14-18]). I have a 745cfm fan and carbon filter cooling my 1000w HPS, so I just don't think the stretching (if there really is any) is due to the light, must be the genetics. I've never heard of a 1000w HPS being used in a 4ftx4ft area and not having it providing enough light throughout the top canopy.

Let me post my new update that I uploaded yesterday @ day 17 of flower. I really don't think they're stretching much (or at all after boosting the shorter ones up).

Here it is, short, not much to say, but enjoy! :bigjoint: About to smoke a big bowl of some VERYY well grown ATF (Alaskan Thunderfuck) from Collective Awakenings here in Oregon, should get me set for my day :P
