Giving a Plant More Darkness?

Well I'm a outdoor grower my plant is heading towards week 7 No signs of flowering yet. I'm a bit afraid if i don't get it into flowering now i will be having to keep the plant for the winter and ya it gets me because i hope it wont die over that cold time. So i was just wondering if I i give the plant way more darkness wit more than 12 hours will it have a better chance in increasing the chances it has to get pistils and get put into flowering stage? if you want pictures or anything to see how my girls are doing I''ll take some but it will have to wait till the morning because i don't want to mess up there hours in the dark.

You live in central Cali, it will finish before you have to worry about the cold. And if it is still flowering and it starts to get to cold just bring it inside or bag it at night to preserve heat.

dont use a garbage bag it will mold ur buds when the humidty picks up at night. u will need to get something big enough to hang over ur plants with pleanty of air movement. just wait another week and see what happens. everyone around here is in week 2 to 5 of flowering u might have a late strain but dont trip its goin to be warm for a while it wont die on u

Actually if you are going to cover (not that I think he should do it) you need only leave the cover on for a few hours until it gets dark. Let's say you want to go for 12/12 and the sun comes up at 6AM. You put the cover on at 6PM then take it off as soon as it gets dark. You don't need to keep it on all night.

if your able to grow in your backyard in pots you can bring the pots into your garage or shed at night and at around 10am take them out and put them in the garden and that will not only induce flowering but there will also be more security at night because your plants are locked up in a building. at least thats what i tried this year and i was able to chop them down first week of September. one of my plants was 6ft the other was 5ft and really bushy.

if you use a garbage bag it gets way to hot and pretty much suffocates your plants... its like putting a bag over your head.. you cant breathe and neither will your plants if your able to put them somewhere inside like a shed that will work for you

Sounds like it's 7 weeks old total, is that right? If that's true then it's just mature enough to start showing some pre-flower, and you have the full flowering term to go, whatever that strain is. Giving it more than 12 hours of darkness is prolly not going to help. It's either not mature enough to start, it's a long flowering sativa, and just hasn't started yet, or you have bad genetics that ain't gonna do shit. If IT'S A MATURE PLANT , AND YOU'VE HAD IT IN FLOWER (12/12) for seven weeks......throw it out, you got some hemp!
