giving defoliation during flower a try

You don't need a light meter to see that the white wall in your room is substantially more reflective than the beige wall.
That's correct, white is one of the brightest colors. But a color doesn't equate to usable light. A light meter will tell you simply if your plants are getting the light they need, or not. There's no other way to slice the facts.

And for reference.. I use 34w t8 for baby seedlings. This is how much light a 34w t8 florescent bulb gives out as usable light from just a few inches away. Would you flower your plant under some Christmas lights just because the wall looks bright? The 34w t8 bulb at just a few inches is 5x brighter than what the lowers are receiving in the flower room.

What does that tell you?

Dude, a light meter tells you nothing about usable light.

Lumens are for humans.

Lux. And foot candles. I don't believe I said lumens, if I did I misspoke.

Edit: yup, the only one that said lumens is you. Why do people keep changing what I say when I prove them wrong? God, just admit your wrong and better yourself.

A par meter, on the other hand, will show nothing, similar as a lux meter would. Zero.

I'll prove that another day if you'd like. But, you keep running in circles. And the end result will be the same.............because as lux is increased so is par! Doh!

Also, par doesn't mean shit either. BTW.

From the lighting experts ;)

The brainwashing and disinformation is too much from you guys sometimes... So many led astray....

Lmfao.... Wow. Can't teach old dogs new tricks. I get the saying now. Because everything thing I've said is 100% correct and your just grasping at straws now. I used to have respect for the ogs, but I've lost it 100% when a grown man can't admit he's wrong about so many things he's been proven wrong with the same science they preach. ;)

The smart growers will actually read the literature, the sheep will follow you and grow with less potential. My info speaks volumes for the gap between the ogs and me, I'm just on another level you're too stubborn to achieve.

In all honesty,I was a real big follower of leaving all my leaves on my plants. I grew that wat for at least 25 years indoors. I thought of leaves as solar panels, not really true. After a week of full development, leaves are just sustaining themselves giving no value to the plant itself. Yes,I tried it and i'm sold. I can only say this for indicas. Defoliation will yeild you an easy 30% more bud. Not just my opinion, fact,I did the experiment. It works.

I defoliate my second grow and I think I did alright for my second grow ever. My monster plants were so bushy it was un real took up way to much room and the light penetrated maybe 1/2 a foot in the plant not even close to getting light to the stock or bottom branches. So before really even reading any info online I just thought to myself I bet it would help if I got rid of some of these larger fan leaves so I did. Then researched about it. And I'm honestly glad I did

Edit: i did not do defoliation by typical standards I just trimmed about 50% of the fan leaves 3 weeks into flowering.

No it won't. I think this thread has gone from de foliating to pruning some lower crap branching. Style of growing and strains play a big part of whats being talked about in this thread lately.

And sometimes you just got to leave people drown in their own ignorance as their debating skills, logic, and intellectual honesty are so poorly developed it's more fruitful to argue with a plant.

"Science"... Lol...
There there buddy. It must be that time of the month again when you and your pals get cranky from being proved wrong. I totally understand so I picked these up for your vaginas. It's the heavy flow kind.

I also got you some chocolates.

Hope you feel better! I'll be back in 4-7 days after you're all done menstruating and can try to figure out how to prove me wrong and learn how to read, because you have things backwards and tagged the wrong person. The only lack in intellect and intelligence is from you and your crew. The lack of you're understanding is rather pitiful and the answers I have got from you all are, well.. not answers at all. Memes, "I think mylar will help", and dumb posts about NOTHING at all that has to do with the case at hand. Oh, and then more dumb posts like yours that just make you look even less knowledgeable. Nursery rhymes don't cut it. Lumens are for humans? Lol, well duh. If there is 0 lux, there is 0 par. Using lux to know light intensity for a bulb that is specifically made to grow plants, is well a good thing! Par, hmm, doesn't matter! It's about light spectrum, only. Maybe nitpicking is your science, because that is all I have got from you, not a single source of reputable information. ;)

Talking about defoliating is talking about light penetration.

I agree with you that Mylar doesn't work with fluorescent lights , Mylar in my opinion only work proper with HPS and MH lights, people usually wear sunglasses when they work in this type of setups with several HPS and MH lights (600 or 1000 Watts) , if you grow Cannabis with fluorescent lights CFL, etc, don't even mind to install Mylar because it won't work.

Then in a case with low power lights, short ceilings, and small grow areas (tents, corners in rooms, etc), Mylar obviously won't work, so in this case pulling off some leaves or cutting some low branches may be beneficial and even mandatory, but as far as a know these are classical and accepted "training" methods.

AlphaPhase I don't know how is your set-up, but your training techniques are suitable for small grow ops like tents.

If you have a set-up with 1000 Watts HPS and MH lights Mylar is mandatory.

Mylar doesn't diffuse the light indeed it focuses the light after reflecting it, here 1 tip I realized by Myself, Mylar is so good at reflecting high intensity lights that is very good not to install the Mylar very tense and let it "dance" with the wind, this is a way to distribute the lights all over the plant's leaves even the lower and deeper leaves, if Mylar reflected light doesn't reach some very low branches and leaves you can take them out.

When your set-up start growing in size and Wattage usually you'll realize that every method that take out work from your hands is a heaven's gift.

Defoliating and lollipopping can be good for a tent set-up with CFL or 250watt HPS, I mean set-ups for kids.

Men use 600 or 1000 watt HPS or MH lights son they dont wanna hear shit bout "extra unnecessary non proven maybe detrimental work".
Men think "if my plants doesn't yield ok and I know is a light issue I don't need lollipopping or defoliating I just need more powerful lights".

Gangstas in Spain use the SOG method, this is a proven growing method to speed things up. They easily plant hundreds of plants and get a fast and uniform carpet of buds. In Spain in the worst case there is no way to persuade a judge in court that SOG type of grow-op is medical. And don't even bother to talk to this gangstas about "defoliating or lollipopping or scrogging" this techniques are for kid grow-ops.

Now listen up guy,
First of all, I think people are blending the stupid ass shit you say with things he is saying because of your screen name.
@AlphaPhase grows some serious cronic. I know this because he is my neighbor here in NorCal. I off his weed! Don't worry about how many or how big his lights are. Currently 4k in flower:-D but the guy did practically just move into his current place, tweaking shit as he is going/growing. Gotta do what ya gotta do.
I think he's been growing with bigboy lights for something like 15 yrs.
I've been growing for more than 20(sick of saying it here). I lollipop if need be. So fucking what:finger: I currently have more than 20 lights. I gaurantee you the only lights I have in tents are for veg.

This thread IS/WAS about defoliation, but people continue to associate lollipoping with defoliating(UB).

Last thing: Even though I have panda film draped all over my walls in my rooms from floor to ceiling, I see what AP is saying about reflection down low. It's fucking dark down there, so what the fuck is reflection going to do down there! Jesus Fucking Christ! Is a reflective wall covering going to somehow transfer light down underneath a plant canopy, and then amplify it or something? Lol, personally, I'm looking for reflection off the walls in between the light and plant canopy:-)
