Glass Cleaning 101

Alright so it's about that time again, when all of my glass pieces get clogged up and it's time to clean them again. I always use Purple Power degreaser in a zip loc bag. I soak each piece for at least 30 mins then rinse out the chunks with hot water from the sprayer on the sink.

:leaf:

What is your preferred method? Any hard core scrapers around? I've met a few with the skil and patience in my time.

^^^^ You gotta be careful with that shit! It'll take your breath away. Burns skin too lol. But yeah, it works, just rinse the fuck out of it after.

The other day, I had a completely revolutionary highdea and put about a dozen clay hydroton balls in the bottom of my bong, through the hole for the downstem. It cleaned all the areas between the "ice cube stoppers" (what the hell would you call that?) and allll of the hard to reach places. Smaller ones work better for small areas, and the big ones knock off the thicker resin. I used to use rubbing alcohol and salt, but this with the rubbing alcohol (same time) trumps salt any day.

99% isopropyl alcohol + coarse salt (used for canning)

Cleans everything in seconds.

Soaking in cleaners is a waste of time and money.

My worry about that is that the Hydroton is quite the abrasive, and will scratch/cloud the glass in time. cn
