Plus that's the 180w UFO Is not even comparable with the glowpanel. Sunshine Systems Ufo will run you the same price with same specs (90w). But ony sunshine systems offers a smaller 45w. Which I tihnk will be substantial lighting for 20" x 20 " box...

Even with your "micro SOG" setup, I still don't think that panel will be sufficient light to finish a crop. You're better off with a newer generation 90W UFO.

So......did you ever get the Glow Panel 45?????/I got one used for cheap cheap......I used it for vegging just for kicks to see some LED results first hand.....just a couple plants.....I read on their site how it suppose to compare to 250 watt hid.....yeah f n right......I gotta say for 120-130 bucks it costs online(not what I paid thank god)I rather use cfl or fluorescent tubes....just much cheaper and better results...Good led systems are just crazy expensive.....I'll wait to experiment when they are cheaper or if I come across a good one for super cheap on craigslist..hehe

I have 2, and I love em'. I've posted pics elsewhere on these forums as well as my avatar pic. I would recomend them to anyone. I think they're pretty amazing. I'm planning on getting 1 more as well as 4 of the 14w glowpanels for side lighting.

What do you love so much about 'em??....I'm just not as amazed as you are...I am open minded and always looking for different ways to grow, but I gotta say I was pretty disappointed after purchasing 1 of these glow panels 45...even after getting it at such a cheap price...

I'm amazed that 56 combined watts can grow as good as my hps did. Without the heat and high electricric bill. I like the fact that they are enviromentally friendly. When I build my new grow shed it will be exclusively LED, most likely higher wattage. I plan on powering them from a battery bank/ inverter charged by 2 400w solar panels. Can you run hid's like that?...well you can for a HUGE investment.

How many watts hps ????And yes you can run hids like that...just like you plug in your leds into your power inverter....they just pull more watts....but thats not the point i am trying to get across....

"More than four times the output of the original GlowPanel®, the GlowPanel 45® uses only 28 Watts of power and surpasses the output of a 250 Watt HPS"

Quoted from the official glow panel website....indeed this is can not be true...How many plants you got under 2??I couldnt see growing more than 2 small plants under 1 all the way through flower...as stated before I only used mine for vegging.....I might put mine next to my 400 watt hps.......I am currently running 1400 watts hid in my flowering room...you can barely see the Led light when turned on in my flowering room...I want to try the 300 watt spectra unit...but not until I can find a great deal or until they are cheaper...that unit looks kick ass.

4 plants. Closet grow. My old hps was 600w. too damn hot for my 4x4 closet. When I build my shed I plan on running about 1000w LED. Wich will be paid in full my first grow.

So you are saying those 56 watts compares to the 600 watt??.....Thats one thing I do hate about hid...friggin sucks when summer comes around....gotta blast my a/c......I will be purchasing solar cells and make my own panels pretty soon...to save on energy costs..my summer electric bill is 400-500 bucks...Love winter only $120 a month, how much heat would 1000 watts of led produce???I know the leds systems that are the equivalent 1000 watt produce less heat but what will 1000 watts of led produce..

Thats what I'm saying. Now that I'm a legal grower I will be growing 32 plants at a time..Thats why I'll pay money for new environmentally friendly tech. But I will not stand to waste any more money on wasted energy...Call me a tree hugg'n hippie I guess....LoL

i also grew out plants with the glowpanel 45. it was an animal in the veg room, but didnt have the light penetration to flower the taller plants. imo, you need short plants to get the full coverage you need. cheap cfl's can supply the extra light you need if you are growing a larger plant

I know they can work but I also am amazed at the raves I hear about them. On OG way back there were a couple of guys who tested HID's 150w,250w,270w and their conclusion in a crawlspace now! that 150w worked great. My girlfriend loves to play with stuff like tying off a scrog so I'm turning her onto that! And the GrowPanel 45 seems adequate I guess. But to compare it as no better than a cfl all I can say is crap!:peace:
