oh and after a quick glance at the article it doesnt actual seem like this is a GMO solution either

not that i would have a problem if it was
well they may not label it as "genetically modified" with the bad rap gmos are getting but they certainly are being genetically modified that's for sure

I voted both like and dislike because im undecided

I don't understand how they could accurately determine its effects on the eco system long term

I edited and added the why to my last post lol

because I don't understand how there able to accurately assess the consequences to the eco system long term

are we willing to believe that this sort of thing wont have negative effects on places like the florida everglades eco system?

that doesnt mean its GMO

the consequenses are that there are less disease carrying mosquitos fuck the rest of it

theres a mass extinction event going off at the moment we may as well make the bad fuckers disappear too

its all connect man
like dominos

you cant change one thing without it affecting so many other things, and whos to say it doesn't back fire and create some other worse problem

im not sure how you can say its not gmo when it states they changed the chromosome and changed there bacteria

its not a natural insect species...its man made

still does mean its GMO

you could say that about anything

here look

"you cant kill off the polio virus as it might back fire and cause worse problems"

"you can't kill off human lice as it might back fire and cause worse problems"

never mind the problems caused by malaira and the Zika virus thats all just fine and dandy

does anyone know or remember plum island and what happened there after world war 2

they took the Germaine scientists from hitler and put them on plum island to continue there research on how to weaponize ticks for war fair

then all of a sudden in the 70s entire town named Lyme CT became sick from a new infectious disease spread by ticks, called lyme disease or burilio burginof (spelled wrong) which was the name of yet another Germaine scientist

look at a map and see where plum island is compared to lyme CT

then the CDC center of disease control ignored the existence of chronic lyme disease for 40 years and still to this day does all they can to minimize its publicity

how about the lyme vaccine that was pulled off the market because it gave people the disease and made them sick

look up how many cases of zika there are per year... very few and yet it makes the news every cycle

lyme disease 300,000 cases per year I think it was

i dont care about your point of view and i couldnt give a flying fuck if someone did manage to profit off of killing mosquito's (the chances are they wont)

Of all disease-transmitting insects, the mosquito is the greatest menace, spreading malaria, dengue and yellow fever, which together are responsible for several million deaths and hundreds of millions of cases every year. Mosquitos also transmit lymphatic filariasis and Japanese encephalitis.
Malaria is endemic in 91 countries, with about 40% of the world's population at risk. By undermining the health and working capacity of hundreds of millions, it is closely linked to poverty and stunts social and economic development. Up to 500 million cases occur every year, 90% of them in Africa, and there are up to 2.7 million deaths annually.

Dengue is the world's most important mosquito-borne virus disease, with 2500 million people worldwide at risk of infection and 20 million cases a year in more than 100 countries. In 1995, the worst dengue epidemic in Latin America and the Caribbean for 15 years struck at least 14 countries, causing more than 200 000 cases of dengue fever and almost 6000 cases of the more serious dengue haemorrhagic fever.

first of all, if you don't care about my point of view then why did you specifically ask me for it
all I said was I was undecided and you asked me why

second, I didn't state my reservations in my original post because I thought the potential reasons for concern was obvious, again I will say, you asked me why I have concerns and then when I answer your question you call me a scaremonger

third
the video stated it was being used in 9 states in the U.S.
the US has only a few cases of zika per year , like 7 to 12 maybe if I recall (it may be less)

the video doesn't say where going to use it in Africa to save millions of lives

last malaria for example;
has an inexpensive solution, a simple pill and yet thousands die in Africa each year from malaria and several other disease
despite the minimal costs we still don't provide the meds and let them die because of profit motives

if you don't care about my point of view don't ask me for it.... that's called baiting

now that ive said all that

I understand the benefits,

but these things don't show the hazards for 30 too 50 years time, so I have some concern about it not being properly vetted due to the profit motive, much like the lyme vaccine

that doesn't mean you should jump my shit

and I will add one more thing,
if you believe the people or corporations whom funded this project that likely costs millions of dollars don't expect to make profits....then your a fool

the government even gave biological and pharmaceutical corporations the right to file paten on infectious disease causing bacteria

essentially allowing private corporations to own the disease causing bacteria... you cant see a conflict of interest in that?

as climate change hits the disease carrying mosquito's are moving north into the us

i didnt ask for your opinion i asked for evidence that it was GMO as you incorrectly labeled it as such...

this crap you keep repeating about lyme disease is bullshit too theres evidence of it being on mummies from 5000 years ago

it isnt as simple as you claim to treat malaria and its millions that die each year

if your going to argue against the people trying to save those millions of people at least get your facts correct
