Gnats

I was able to kill off gnats with quillaja from buildasoil. Just added it to my normal waterings, pretty sure they drowned in the first dose but It seems the plant loves the Q as well
I've got it under control with some BTI, this is an old trap, and I just happen to be looking under the microscope at the traps and found some differences... had me curious. Im usually on top of my pest game, but I found some larvae in my runoff, and incorrectly ID'd it as FG larvae, when it was Springtails. ..... back to class I go.

Could even be fungus gnats versus fruit fly.
We got fruit flies and they have a totally different look. We also have those tiny no-see-um gnats that bite people and fit through the window screens.

Summer only for the no-see-ums. Our -33C weather gets rid of them until spring.

Typical fruit fly.

Crazy. I've never heard of that. I use liquid yucca occasionally, but I've never heard about using a wetting agent to kill gnats.

I actually just got that same stuff from BAS. But haven't opened it yet.

The bitting ones sound like pirate bugs. I had ordered some, but canceled them since I figured it was a bad idea in my bedroom, :D

I think they're called that too.

OG is working now. At least for me.
Tried my phone and it works there but not my PC and I tried removing all cache data and cookies then opened a new tab to find the Sorry notice again. Very strange.

I do not use my phone for web surfing. PITA. When in the hospital for days maybe.

hit them up on ig or jay_Plantspeaker for the kill rate. I didn’t have an infestation just noticed 1 or 2 and started immediately and did 1g per gallon water.

Wow this thread has been going on I had to take a look.
The pantyhose idea was interesting.
Listen, the best way to control gnats has been mentioned a couple times already.
Yellow sticky traps on the soil and a couple of BT drenches.
Cheap. Easy. Works EVERY time.

@Doug Dawson might be able to help. He's the man over at OG, and he's also a computer guy.
I know Doug. He's been handing out the seeds I originally sent to Shadey who I made Admin at CC when it was still up. Assistant Admin I guess but he had all the permissions too. :)

Found the problem. I use ProtonVPN and have been using one of the new servers they recently added to the list and for some reason OG doesn't seem to like them. Switched to one of the older servers and it works fine. Switched back while logged in and no go again. Funny I don't get a bad IP error message or something other than OG offline for now.

Haven't been on there since Xmas day. labrat.gif

Thanks tho!
