Going organic remixing old promix

No blood meal. Good. Reading post1 that's all I was gonna suggest. I've been growing organic reusing the same soil for almost 10years now, and Alfalfa is my main N in the mix, along with everything else you have in there you should have enough different forms of N to never have a prob with green healthy plants. A thought for you; Nitrogen fixing bacteria pull N from the atmosphere which is mostly N. Grow those microbes! You know when you water and the water is flowing down through the medium, it is pulling air in behind it, air rich in N, but only unlockable by certain microbes. ;) High Nitrogen fertilizers are not needed as much as you'd think, when growing organically. The plant takes care of itself.
I know this is old post , bit I presume I can do this to my roots original soil?, Amend to full living? I have a fresh bag I want to do that to and switch this round over from liquid org.
I have on order kelp, humic. Bone meal, ewc, dolomite (I use ro water), bat guano bit wondering if I need it now. Maybe bird guano for flower? And wondering if I need langbenite in my mix I don't feel like I have any K in the mix. I cancelled my blood meal. Was going to add alfalfa or crab

Skip the guano bat or bird it's filled with heavy metals. You're probably not trying to pass a compliance test but you would fail one for heavy metals if you used guano. Just top dress with some more bone meal, ewc, and a pinch of langbeinite when you flip. And yeah don't skip the lang, you'll regret it.

Crap I amended the bag, I got too excited lol, I barely added guano, less than 1/8 c per 1.5cuft.
Basically added about that of all items to the bag and 3# more ewc. pretty sure bat g is in roots anyway.
Damn glad I got the lang. I kept looking at all my npks and realized I had like a 2 total for k .
And probably 3tbl lime to the entire thing
I saved a scoop of ewc to brew and will drench the soil with it tonight. Plus

Do I need drainage holes popped in my tote the soil is in

Drainage holes wouldn't hurt, you don't want it to go anaerobic. Prolly won't be the first time you smoke heavy metals but definitely an amendment I would move away from in the future.

What's a better sub then? I know I should get fish hydrosolate later for flower. I think that's what I've been reading
I'm cool tossing it if I should really use it

You don't need the hydrolysate.

If you got:

EWC
Alfalfa Meal
Bone Meal
Langbeinite
Kelp Meal
Lime

Than you're good my friend no need for anything else. Neem seed meal will decrease the need to add additional Alfalfa meal in later vegetation stage of more heavy feeding strains.

Thanks no alfalfa I decided on crab instead since I had kelp. Bit I was planning on adding it at some point.
Side question, I just got regular bone meal, better to switch to fish bone next? Guess I'll pitch that guano seems that was a bad call and it's open already

I got some random org castings off Amazon vermiterra. It's all gone already since I tossed it all in my soil.
I'm reaching out to my friend who manages a biodynamic farm I work with.. they have a gargantuan work house (you should see their 2 massive brewers that gravity feed into their irrigation). Bit at market like 8oz is 15$ I think haha..
A quick look in Craigslist someone is selling $1/# for red wigglers fed on horse manure already composted and veg fruit scrap for a yr.

Soo I may contact that guy

I don't want the easy way. I always take the hard way, was a chef who did old school long process techniques, I've brewed beer, dry cured meats, blah blah blah.. I work in the food industry still with a produce vendor and I run our farmers markets program .. I arrange and do farm tours, buy from my local farms. A close friend a a regenerative soil farmer she points me in directions , another farm I'm friends with I mentioned apricot lane (,watch their film on prime biggest little farm) who are certified biodynamic.. ewc 8oz 15$. I txt my manager friend I used to work with see if he can help me out on 5 or 10#.

Grow wise I've never noticed much difference between fish bone meal vs standard cow bone meal. I can tell you that ever since dealing with state compliance tests and seeing all the things that organic fertilizers can add to the bud...I avoid any fertilizers that are ocean based (this includes any fish, kelp, crab meals that used to dominate my soil mixes) and any and all rock phosphate or mined minerals (basalt, azomite, rock dust).

I think I just found a local ewc source sorta by my work. 8-10$/gal. Can't imagine I need more than 2 gal worth for now, I'll chuck 1 gal into my soil mix since God knows if that vermasterra stuff was any good (added 3# to the soil when I amended). I made a 24 hour tea with 1/4c casting and 1 tbl molasses in 1.5 gal water and fed all that into the tote.

That seems super expensive.
