goo in my water...

Ok, so i have a large 180 gallon rez that is light proof and cooled to 64°. It floods 24 five gallon buckets which all have air stones with only a 6" netlid holding plant so roots do no grow in medium...

I have been fighting the issues in the picture for many many grows. I use h202, used that gold zone crap but made no difference.

Its is slime but thick and it settles at the bottom of water when it sits. Then when it floods is looks like flakes floating around in water.

My understanding was possibly the h202 waS killing one of my.nutrients and thats what im seeing. Also, possibly dead algea?

Need experienced help. Need to run sterile rez. My nutrients are right off the GH feeding chart (not feeding strengths but i use all the bottles)

Do you have a lot of movement(airstones/powerheads) in the res? How do your roots look? I would add hygrozyme to your regiment to keep things clean.

I had 4 big airstones on 2 pumps in rez and i have my chiller taking water from bottom and waterfalling on top.

what all do you put in the res when you mix up nutes... do you run silica? using net pots filled with hydroton or something?

don't use anything organic, and make sure those buckets and lids are 100% light proof. new clay pebbles often add dusty mud shit to the res if not washed well. silica should be added before other nutes or it could precipitate into plastic type shit.

I have never tried sterilizers... if it's not working out you can try aquashield and pond-zyme with un-chlorinated water.

How long after a res change does it take for that to appear? Do you do complete changes often? Does this have an effect on your plants? I think gold zone is quite effective in a well maintained system. I would start looking at that nute lineup and change something, just use the basics for anwhile and see if that helps anything. Your system sounds like you shouldn't have any problems except a little water can stay in lines and get warm and become funky. With 24 pots there's a fair amount of tubing and that could be your problem. Flooding more frequently could help that and since you don't have a medium it shouldn't overwater your plants.

Aright, thanks for replys.

The bottom inch of buckets and tubing stays filled with water and air stones are always on so i know that water gets warm but when new water comes in at 64 shouldnt that chill that water? I do not change out my rez water until they go from veg to flower. They drink 40-60 gallons a day sometime so im always topping off new water.

My yields are not big because my plants do not form into colas. My roots are nice white then they start to get some brownish stain to them in certain places then white roots again... i really think the h202 is killing something and its lingering in water.

I need to stop it from growing altogether. I dont use any silica or organic nutrients. Just use normal rocks from store that gets rinsed out.

Deff alot of sitting water in tubign as you can tell. Also i use tap water...
