Good Morning/Weather Report Suite

We had a hot sunny day today. I finally got around to picking up limbs out of the front yard. Ran out of time before I got to the back yard.

At 1620 it's 89F with 47% humidity. Forecast high/low of 91/70F with 10% chance of rain tonight. Mt 10 day forecast only has 3 days of chance of rain. That is the best it's been all summer. Now that I'm fighting rot on every corner it's going to be good finishing weather. Although our dew is still like rain. This morning when I made my rounds I shook off all the plants.

I mentioned this in the other thread, but there seems to be another hurricane headed your way...

If you are talking about Maria, it does't look like she will hit land outside of the caribean. Murky the models are, but most of the past takes her out to sea. Same for Jose. Of course, that still messes with me cuz it's hard to fish when the waves are 30 feet high and 12 seconds apart.......

Yeah, that would make it a challenge...

We had lots of sun early, but it clouded up in the afternoon. I got out and did a few miles this morning. Got in a little chopping while I was about.

At 1630 it's partly cloudy, 90F with 58% humidity. Forecast high/low of 91/72F with 20% chance of rain tonight.

Gorgeous breezy day in the low 80s today. That, along with a lack of rain recently prompted authorities to declare a red flag day for fire danger.

It's raining again today. At 1500 it's mostly cloudy {still dripping rain off the roof}, 77F with 92% humidity. Forecast high/low of 79/70F with 40% chance of rain tonight. I have less than a dozen plants still out, and put seeds in soil for my fall/winter crop yesterday, so in a couple more weeks it can rain all it wants to.

It's been a pretty nice day today. Not that I got out any. Other than turning my drying bud in the barn, I didn't get outside at all. Maybe it had something to do with getting to bed at 0200 and getting woke up by a phone call at 0600. Next time there is a truck in the ditch here at work, I will remember to leave a note for the day man.

At 1820 it's sunny, 85F with 60% humidity. Forecast high/low is 89/69F with 20% chance of rain tonight. Happy Fall Equinox everyone. I want a refund. My LoD is 12 hours 8 minutes. It is supposed to be equal.

Today is shaping up pretty good. Looks like the outside customers can have their event without worrying about showers. At 0920 it's sunny, 73F with 90% humidity. Forecast high/low of 89/69F with 20% chance of rain today. Only one day of chance of rain on my 10 day forecast. I'm liking Fall already. Although if my LoD is 12 hours 6 minutes, is it really Fall?

Raining here today. We don't get rainy days much. Forecast high of 50, low of 40. Such small day/night differentials are also unusual here.

My length of day is 12hrs 7 minutes according to weather underground. Things that make ya go hmmmmm...

Not exactly the same topic, but I saw a report where our clocks are more accurate than the world is, as far as how long each year is. So far it's easier to adjust the clocks.

Definition of sidereal day is cool; or the length of time the Earth ACTUALLY takes to rotate exactly 360 degrees. Because we're orbiting the sun, thus 'losing' one full day a year, this is about 4 minutes shorter than the day length we experience.

24 hours x 60 minutes per hour; 1440
1440 minutes a day /365.23 days; 3.94 minutes per day.

Astronomy is Crazy shit!

The Earth's rotation varies by up to a couple of seconds a year. It seems to more or less average out. Makes me wonder why this might be? Earthquakes?
