Yeah I'm changing the plants I'm growing. Those ak47 x bubblegum clones I was suppost to get didn't work out. But I have two ak47 clones going now. Just rooted, frest and ready to grow :). Just bough ta nice digi ph meter as well so now I can be more accurate :).

I'll post some pictures of my roots on my bigger plants, they're crazy :)

WHATS THE BUSINESS PEOPLES?!?!?!

I know its been a while since I posted on here sorry about that.

this grow im in is my very first with DWC as I have only done NFT,Top feed and, Aeroponics before. That being said, until now I have NEVER taken clones or kept mothers. In addition to that before my current grow, I have never done LST or, supercropping.

I have been learning a lot about this style of growing and can only hope my competing will only teach me more, and will hopefully help others who happen to be following.

Now on to the business at hand, I have sucessfully cloned a mother of each strain I had so thats one Nirvana blackberry Fem mother, Two blue cheese fem mothers and two NYPD mothers, Ill choose the best of the nypd and blue cheese once I harvest the donor plants.
and I have two more Blue cheese clones in the cloner right now that have shown root bumps, and should be ready for a 4 pot bucket by friday.

These will veg the entire time my current grow is flowering, ( Blue cheese and blackberry just finished thier 17th day and are asleep right now, NYPD #2 is at 9 days of flowering and NYPD#3 is at 3) days so Im guessing somewhere between the middle of december through new years for harvest. and then the two blue cheese clones will go in there along with two other girls Im gonna flower with them.

Im using the GH 3part Flora Grow,Micro,Bloom.
Technaflora Magi-Cal
Superthrive on handwatered clones
Seaplex as a foliar spray during veg
Beneficial bacteria and beneficial fungi both applied through the EWC tea per Heisenbergs thread.

I will be either Topping for 4 main colas, or LSTin. Maybe a combination of both.

Good luck to everyone! and pics soon!

Hey bro, good luck, it's good to see people are taking this thing seriously, that waY we can all walk away knowing that this log has educated us in the art of self supply!

My roots touched water today! Hopefully we will see an explosion this week!!

Keep it up guys!

SIDE NOTE -

Has anyone here used dutch master zone? I have it but am unsure on how to use effectivly. thanks!

Ok as promised cause I am a man of my word the pics!

They may not look like much to you, but for me Im excited cause these are my very first successfull clones, I have several more as you can see 4 in the bucket, and several more in the cloner, ( the two Im entering are among the cuttings in the cloner, all of which have root bumps, and small baby roots) these that are in the pink tupperware are soaking in a 3% H2O2 solution they were in a 4 pot dwc bubbler however since these are going to be my mothers, just for ease they are being transplanted to buckets with perlite or a perlite mix of some kind and being handwatered daily.

the clones you see in the bucket are also going to be mothers, ( Im going to take the best looking ones I have ) So they might be kept or handed off to a very close friend (actually my technical support and partner he does the outdoor shyt in the summer,,, gorilla etc etc. and helps with everything thats built IE veg box, cool tubes, Boxing my exhaust fans for silence, running duct work etc etc.)

However, the clones in the cloner are what I intend on entering, I have so many not by choice but because when I cut off the smaller growth to take a clone, I clone them too. My friend said that was a waste of starter plugs, maybe he's right but his jaw dropped when he saw all of em focking rooted!

anyway before the pics, some vitals on the rest of my equip
I veg under a sunleaves pioneerVIII mixed spectrum with 4 veg tubes and 4 bloom tubes.
There is a 4in extraction on the veg box ( same fan cools my hps flower lights)

flower room
4x4x6.5ft flower tent
intake is 3 passive intakes
exhaust is a 6in 409cfm sunleaves windtunnel inline fan blowing into a 4in carbon filter in the attic
lighting is (2) 400w HPS cool tubes DIYed with a 179cfm growbrite inline fan
Air pump is a sunleaves durapump 1450 gal/hr pump that will be powering two 4 in airstones per bucket
and two 9in high velocity fans moving air around inside
and I have a C.A.P Day/Night temp fan controller on my tent exhaust.
and a speedster speed controller on my Cool tube fan/veg box

Hello everyone,

First off, thanks unispanman for hosting this event... may the greenest thumb win!

This is my first grow log, so not everything is gonna be pretty. Feel free to comment on or question anything and I will be happy to explain as soon as I can. I started a set of ladies in flower so that I could be on time for the Nov 14th entry deadline but they look more stressed than I would like, so I think am going to to start flowering a different batch on the 17th, which will go for 8 weeks ending on January 12th.

I am still wishing the plant number was not limited so we could see the difference between techniques like scrog, sog, and raising a couple large plants but oh well, I guess ill just go with the flow here. As you will see below, I do sog (sea of green) with many little plants, LST if they grow any taller than 3ft depending on stage of growth, and I do a perpetual grow.

I have no idea how I am gunna pick two plants out of a small bed of many.... unispanman hopefully you will see what I'm talking about and give the sog or scrog peoples out there a chance to be competitive and get in on the action. Maybe you could have a rule like: number of plants should be equal to or less than two or greater than or equal to 12 for scrog/sog grows (its hard to fit 12 vegged out plants (>3ft in any dimension) under a 600 watter for 8 weeks of flower)... Nonetheless I wont be much of a competitor either way haha but no worries Ill go ahead and pick two of em just for this experience if ya cant change that rule.

Ne ways heres the comprehensive setup...

Hydroponic Setup

Technique = DWC (Deep or Dutch Water Culture?)
27 Gallon Res w 36 plant sites
249 W Pond Air pump (split 4 ways)
2x 4' bendable aeration tubes (each res)
Media -those new inert small white cubes, cant think of the name

Grow box-
veg..
15' x 10' x 2'(considering height of res)

flower...
15' x 5' x 4'(considering height of res)
poorly lined mylar walls haha
CO2 1500ppm (in later flowering stages)
some oscillating fans

Lights:idea:-
for veg...
2x 4ft 32w flouro 2700k... clones

then... LST to fit flower setup (trouble with HPS being too close):wall:

for flower.... technique - sog/perpetual
1 x 600 W HPS (serves multiple reservoirs)
w/Light mover
100W MHs supplementation later in flower

Strains-
Blueberry, White widow, and Big bud

Ferts-
Veg....
Ionic Grow (~700ppm)

Bloom...
Ionic Bloom (starts @ ~700ppm - ends @ ~1100ppm)
Hygrozyme
My custom beni blend

ph down-
veg
Nitric acid 65%
flower
Phosphoric acid 8M or 18M? i forgot

ph up- rarely used
Pottasium Hydroxide 10M?

tap water adjusted to a ph of about 5.5-5.8

setup weaknesses - (working on fixing this stuff)
-Hard to adjust Light distance so I must adjust plant canopy (LST)
-Non-Aseptic setup (i dont mind much tho, since I work with nature)
-Height restrictions
-If I don't have a thick enough carpet of plants algae will grow a little
-Used to have a big microbe problem but began using mature cultures of homeade benis and thickening up the plant count for each res
*Transporting plants from veg to flower stresses plants alot i have noticed, unfortunately making first one to two weeks of flower recovery

Person weaknesses -
-Too busy (lights burn leaves sometimes :-( )
-Suck at telling deficiencies (i think characteristics can overlap) so i dont really supplement if i see anything since it has only made it worse in the past... i just wait it out and it usually goes away (if anyone is an expert and notices anything throughout my grow regarding this aspect I would love to hear it tho)

... I think thats everything I can possibly tell you. Again any questions just give me a holler.

Wish me luck,

cheers :bigjoint:

@Thor - awesome root structure

@bblazed - I dont think its dieing, people are just hard at work and tryin to get ready... i hope

@unispanman - i soo agree with the rockwool statement. Check out "rapid rooter plant starter plugs", a great media that i'm considering going back to after trying these inert white thingys that i cant remember the name to... they come with beneficial microbes, i had ~100% cloning rates w them, but it comes with a price and you cant reuse them

@disposition - Im really admiring that thick foliage.. and i like that scrog technique right there... i should get a screen like that, i just feel like it blocks some light but its prolly negligible aint it?

@Beaver - damn youre gunna be done in jiffy aren't you... lookin good

@Weedler - hey weedler, what do you mean by trimmed? are you trimming the bottoms to do that lollipop technique?

Hey there EMan, You and everybody else are the ones getting this thing alive, i just planted the seed! pun intended :D

About the rule change, it's a bit late for that now. I am scrogging 2 plants, lets say if you are scrogging more than two plants just pick the two with the most delicious buds and enter the end weight of those two plants , sound good?

And also, thanks for the detailed post, makes this comp much more intersting!!

happy growin

I trimmed a lot of the growth off to run two plants in a small tent turns out one went hermie, the 2nd one I have going now (another AK48) has not been trimmed since early in veg. It was topped going to be sick! It is 8 days into flower right now day 32 on my first AK48, a lot of learning with the first AK48 and my tap here first grow at current location

Oh man tough luck sorry to hear that. I dunno if I have ever had a hermie, do they have both the male balls and the female pistils? you got a picture?

Ahhh ok that makes sense since ya had to fit them both in there. Have you tried training branches into different positions instead of cutting them off? if so, does chopping them work better in your experience? I suppose it doesn't matter in this case since it went hermie anyway, but just in general... which method stresses the plant less in your opinion?

I think not trimming excessively, tucking and training works pretty good, plant will naturally find light but you want an even canopy too. It is also important to have good airflow through the plant you never want to have mold set in.

Here's a shot of the hermie vs. female

White Widow Feminized from seed, Hermie! Notice the ball sack & white hairs above by the fan leafs, the pollen sack formation confirmed hermie & he/she was chopped!

Hey everyone, hope all your babies are coming along nicely!

HELP - One of my plants looks fine, but the other has started curling all it's leaves inwards. The environment is the same for both plants so i have no idea whats happening. Both have roots in the water white as light, 75- 85 F in cab , 200 PPM,5.8 PH and 24/0 under the 400w MH.

I did some reading and apparntly switching to 20/4 will correct this if its over lighting?

thanks fellas

UNI!

throw some pictures our way... maybe we can help you diagnose the problem

as of right now.... im saying its an all out nutrient deficiency... 200 PPM?

I dunno about you but as soon as I see a nice roots structure on my clones I make sure my PPM is at least 600. Do you use tap water?
